Subject: Get the Kid Some Help
Subject: Get the Kid Some Help
If this film were made today, it would end with the voice saying: "Susan Jane. You know what to do with that gun."
No, other kids, it's not you. Yes, mom, you make sense in the middle of your bad acting. Susan Jane is a self-pitying, paranoid teenager who hears a man's voice talking to her. She tries to fit in by ordering an ice cream cone, then tearfully runs away when she gets it. She gets invited to a party, which is what she wanted, then rudely hangs up the phone and starts blubbering. It all seems sorted out at the end, but the Mr. Paranoia Voice returns to plant the seeds of doubt and fear.
Yeah, she's got issues.
The storyline adds gags involving a fat kid. Good, clean, '50s fun. And no one gets shot at the end.

At 8:12 Susan Jane goes into total collapsus. lol. Adolescent psych wards are full of her type.
Many films of this same situation on this site. Frankly, I don't get it. The very few kids I've observed acting like her were actually pretty screwed up. One of them, pulled a knife on another girl while they were just playing together at about age 11. If they slink to the corner all the time, and talk to nobody, leave them alone, for pete sakes.
Bring a cake. Gosh, so hillbilly.

Subject: Susan! Susan Jane!
Subject: Susan! Susan Jane!
Poor Susan Jane, the girl with the serious parting of the hair JUST can't seem to fit in! You see, she's convinced that everyone is talking about her behind her back! The funny thing is, that they ARE, they're wondering how they can be friends with her! OHhhhh! Marcie, the team leader it seems, plans a party, and wants to invite Susan Jane, but because of a misunderstanding, Susan Jane thinks they want to invite her to laugh at her! LOL! Marcie comes over to talk with Susan Jane, but when she gets there, she talks to Susan Jane's mom first. The scene is so badly constructed that Marcie somehow talks to Susan Jane's Mom's chest. Pretty soon, everything's resolved, thank goodness. 'Do you know a boy or girl like Susan Jane?' If you know a BOY like Susan Jane, well, seek counselling. Reccomended!
