Did You Say "Brake Material"?
There's a lot of limited animation in what is, overall, a lacklustre short.
It has its moments, though. Where else would you get footage of a 300-pound man scrunching against the front seat of a car?
The cars are always a highlight in Jam Handy films. Those Chevy sedans are beautiful cars.
I never think of traffic jams in 1934 but you can see one at the 1:43 mark.
The narrator is sure buoyant (he gets to say "brake material" a lot), but can't they deaden the studio sound with curtains so he doesn't sound like he's half-way to the back of the room.

Give us a.. oh never mind.
Early Jam Handy short about brakes and friction soesnt really hold up, excuse the pun. Although the narrator is very ethusiasitc about the whole thing, the subject of brakes and how Chevrolet Is God by making the best brake anywhere seems to dry up really quickly. Nice animation though.
