Our usual Saturday loose/informal discussion, with some great philosophical midwifery* thrown in. Topics discussed:
1. Pierre gives away two books he has read:
- To Think Like God: Pythagoras and Parmenides. The Origins of Philosophy, by Arnold Hermann
- Baudolino, by Umberto Eco
2. Midwifery with JulieH re her reluctance to admit she knows
(Reference is made to two dreams: one that JulieH brought in yesterday to explore on Friday night -- but that one was not video-recorded. And a second dream she had just last night (Friday night / Saturday morning), after Friday night's exploration.)
Rectification of Names: Putting a name or role label on those who gave us (passed on) a pathologos
What does it do to be able to put a true label on the actions/roles/functioning of others?
The more accurate the name, the more you're free. Getting back the Logos.
Ousia and Providence
3. Pierre asks whether we shall have a seminar on Poimandres?
4. More discussion on Eco's book
