This film promoting Eastern Airlines' cargo service opens with an
Eastern 727 plane landing on an air strip (:55) and the doors open to
reveal eight freight packs holding cargo (
1:43). These shipments are brought to a lauder lifter and then to a skid (
2:38). Rollers built into the floor of the plane enabled rapid movement of cargo (
3:20). Large bags reading domestic air mail are shown and these are also transported in addition to cargo (
3:48). Seats are being loaded into the plane as it will soon become a passenger plane (
4:56). The crew is seen unloading crates of live lobster, tropical fish (
5:15), and an artificial kidney machine which had been manufactured by DWS INC. (
5:42). In the air freight office, paperwork must be completed to direct the freight to it’s final destination (
6:27). On the plane, the remaining seats are set into place (
7:04), and cargo flight 477 is now passenger flight 90 (
7:41).
Communication between the passenger control center and the Phantom
freighter are constant and preparations for passengers to being boarding
are conducted (
8:38). The crew boards the plane about 45 minutes prior to take-off to ensure the planes readiness (
9:28) and the aircraft is fueled (
9:34). The flight engineer is seen making visual checks (
9:55) and caterers load items such as soda cans, glasses and meals (
10:37). The film draws to it’s end as the passengers board and it enters the run-way for take off (
