As an indigenous writer who is also queer, John Hill is used to “two-eyed seeing”, that is understanding the world one way, but being fully versed in how more mainstream people see it. Being a poet as well, perhaps he could be said to practice three-eyed seeing, but then, as the wise ones in his culture say, each of us contains multitudes.
