Classical means many things
An interesting interview with Marjan Mozetich. The interviewer had 10 years to prepare for the interview - and it shows.
[If you are not familiar with Mozetich's music you are in for a treat. Lovely dreamy stuff.]
The interview is conducted over Zoom, so audio is only passable (being VERY picky, -1 star for poor audio).
The composer describes his relationship to Minimalism and the music of Phillip Glass. Even so, his music is very niche and really needs to be listened to - as it strongly resists categorization.
Mozetich reminds me of Shostakovich, who also started out to be a concert pianist, but had more success as a composer.
Mozetich has a few interesting things to say about the whole "Love in a Time of Covid" situation we all find ourselves in at the present too.
