Awesome Games & Toys for Windows 3.0
Freeware, Shareware, Registered
This is another set of about 530 popular (and many, many not so popular) games, toys, apps and more for Windows 3.0 to 3.11
Contains around 90% games, most of which are fully functional. Many are shareware but can still be used fully. They may have a nag screen at the start or end of the game but none of them I have tried have limited time, gameplay or any other real limit. There are several freeware and registered games as well, along with many of these that can be unlocked through simple serial numbers if you want. These can often still be found online at sites that provide such info (for WinSlot, for example).
There are arcade games, simulations, action games, card games, educational titles, kids' games, RPGs, random widgets, sound programs, and even a screensaver or two. Who knows what else is in here, Windows 3.0 had such a wide variety of possibilities that were tapped.
I am providing this because I think Windows 3.x games and widgets are often overlooked and deserve to be preserved. This was the absolute peak of the shareware revolution and so many of these have been lost to time. They were popular on BBS, AOL and Compuserve back in the day, but have since mostly been forgotten. Well, I had tons of fun with many of these and I think you might too!
Torrent Notes
Each game is zipped into their own respective ZIP file, ready to be extracted and played. Some of them will unzip a working game directory, others will unzip installation files. Some of them may or may not work, I have not tried all of them. Many require DLL files such as VBRUN100.DLL to be installed to your Windows/System directory in order to work. These are included in the VBRUN13.ZIP file.
They are all games I have collected over the years, through FTP, BBS, magazine disks, etc.
Works perfectly with Windows 3.0 and higher. Many will work under Windows 9x as well. Anything later than that is a gamble. I use DosBox with Windows 3.1 installed to play these and they work just fine!
This will likely be the last of such Win3.x compilations from me for a while (this one and the 630 game set).
