This historic U.S. Air Force newsreel covers several topics, including
the rocket sled tests being conducted by Col. John Paul Stapp as part of
human factors testing. These deceleration tests provided valuable data
for aircraft and automobile safety systems and, according to the book
"A History of Murphy's Law" by author Nick T. Spark, were responsible
for the discovery of that famous law. Also on the reel -- the story of
the Eskimo scouts in Alaska, and the "Darmstadt Case" which shows the
U.S. Army's Criminal Investigation Laboratory in Germany. The "military
crime busters" use a wide slate of technologies to conduct their
investigations.
