This 1960s newsreel, made prior to the Apollo 11 mission, includes interviews on and background on the three astronauts including Michael Collins, Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong. The film includes footage of astronaut training, and some of the equipment to be used on the lunar surface to acquire data. Images of the moon shot by the Ranger spacecraft appear at the 5:30 mark, followed by images of Surveyor and Lunar Orbiter, which located the best landing sites for the Apollo astronauts. Spacecraft 107, the Command Module flown to the Moon, is shown being finished at the 6:30 mark. Dr. Wernher von Braun, the head of the Apollo program, appears at the 9 minute mark.
