Letter from BUMED historian requesting information on the history of the hospital. "My current interest runs to any aspects of Medical history. Among these is the reconstruction of a definitive history of naval hospital. In your immediate area there have been at least three: 1) your command at Beaufort; 2) the hospital at Parris Island; and 3) the hospital at Port Royal. The latter named certainly did not measure up to very imposing standards; probably, it was little more than a temporary...

A low rate of illnesses in the past few months has helped the Beaufort Naval Hospital make it through some very 'lean times' without sacrificing services to its patients or quality in the care it provides. 'The 'lean times' is best -described as a simple shortage of available nurses to work in the hospital.

In the United States, drunk driving crashes in 2020 accounted for more than 11,000 lives. This is a sharp increase from the 2011 to 2020 ten-year average, which accounted for just over 10,000 lives. Each day, 29 people die from vehicle crashes involving an alcohol-impaired driver. Every life is essential: We should not lose anyone to drunk driving.
