The Smashing Pumpkins at Metro, Chicago 2022-09-20. Q101 stream. Captured, cut, and faded by ngs428. Frequent commercials interrupted the broadcast, hence the cutting and fading required.

**Remastered** by thir13en Smashing Pumpkins 2000-11-29 United Center Chicago, IL, US Unfortunately, I gotta start on the grim side. I find it unfortunate that with such an important recording in the annals of SP, this is the source that circulates. It's questionable, at best. Maybe someone somewhere has a real FM or pFM of this. Please? Anyways... ...that said, let's get to it. It's a re-work of the one I first seeded about 18 months ago. As I redid the other Chicago show in April that year, I...

**Remastered** by thir13en Smashing Pumpkins 2000/10/27 - Valby; Copenhagen, DK Another awesome Machina show. A very rockin second half, too. Sounded pretty good before, sounds much better now. Some very cool versions of BSBT, the T-Heads OIAL, Speed Kills and the Drown to Porcelina segue. A small cut in Speed Kills was repaired. It's barely there, but if you listen very closely you can find it. It's the best I could do with it. Also the notes mentioned a cut in GATGC. I couldn't find anything...

Too bad about missing songs, damn good show too. I re-edited some songs that were combined on the original to separate tracks. Drown was listed as a tease, but it's not a tease when they pretty much played the whole song with a very cool transition into Porcelina. Hey kids, rock-n-roll... 01.Intro...

Live at Alsterdorfer Sporthalle Hamburg, Germany **Remastered** by thir13en Smaashing Pumpkins 2000-09-18 Hamburg, Germany Another great Machina show, near the end of the tour they give an appreciative German audience the works. The M2 segment rocks through from "Dross" to "Cash Car Star" with a short but cool electric version of "If Is There Is A God" in the middle. And in total this show clocks in at just over 2 hours. Nice. I have two beefs' with this show....

**Remastered** by thir13en SMASHING PUMPKINS 2000-07-04 Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium Seoul, KR What better way to celebrate the 4th of July than playing a gig in Korea? This was an odd source, and it's origins are questionable at best, but I believe through investigation that it is indeed a lossless source. I also believe (no offense to Korea) it was seriously compromised by a limited broadcast technology. First off it's always nice to see a audio-from-video capture in good stereo condition....

**Remastered** by thir13en Smashing Pumpkins 2000-05-13 Aerial Theater Houston, TX, US Redone for the reseed. I was never too happy about the splice of "Today-BWBW" on my first go round with this, and there was still transfer clips from the original mastering which was done a bit hot for digital. I did some tasteful de-crackle on those break-up spots, really toned down the excessive mid-to-high range and gave the bottom some definition. Much warmer and fuller than the original, and...

**Remastered** by thir13en Smashing Pumpkins 1998-07-31 Orpheum Theater Boston, MA (13b) Seeded at the Zomb on 2006-07-30, it'll be 8 years tomorrow! Wow... Late last year I seeded my cassette version of this show. The circulated version I had got from the Zomb last summer was in mono, and my copy was stereo and sounded pretty good. As a 2nd gen cassette, it had some warbles and dips but mostly did the job better than the mono version. In the spring of this year I found a nice DAT version on...

**Remastered** by thir13en SMASHING PUMPKINS 1998/05/14 - Spielbudenplatz; Hamburg, DE Great early Adore tour show. It's obvious that these guys are still feeling there way to working with each other, there's a definite rough edge to the performances here and the mix isn't as smooth as the later US shows when these guys hit a groove. It still has a great R-n-R attitude though and the sound quality of the best German shows is rivaled by none. Personally, I love the slower funkier version of...

**Remastered** by thir13en Baby, Let's Rock! This is one hell of a show. The band returns once again to Reading and delivers a shredding performance of material from SD and the 2 months-away MCIS. It's time to shake the rust and show-off the new songs. And they do, opening with "Jellybelly" and "Zero". And look Ognetty, a damn nice version of "Thru The Eyes...". Billy and a guitar and his best little acoustic pieces in tow. Makes me miss 1991 real bad. To be the rockin' magical age of 27 again. Sigh... **Remastered** by thir13en Smashing Pumpkins 1988-08-10 Avalon Chicago, IL I'm one of those that climbed aboard in 1991 from the moment I heard "I Am One". **Remastered** by thir13en This is one I wish I never had to do. As a dedicated fan I feel we got stiffed a bit with this one, though I understand the reasoning behind the way this was released. But vinyl? Ugh! Vinyl sucks! Crackling and fuzzies, incorrect frequency responses. The digital world has done away with that. Sure there are other things missing in the digital realm, but most of that is not even audible by over 97% of humans. This sounds so much better than before, a nice clarity and...

**Rematrixed** by thir13en Zwan 2003-04-05 Y100 Sonic Sessions Indre Studios Philadelphia, PA, USA The FM version (yes, FM, NOT pFM) is very noisy from the broadcast compression and the capture, and contains a lot of unwanted particles of distorted saturation. It is also missing a few pieces. The AUD is, well, an AUD, but does capture a nice warm midrange of the show and rounds out the FM nicley, plus it fills in some missing pieces. *a thir13en Remaster* The "album" version, lovingly declicked and mischievously tinkered, bleeding loud 'n rocking proud. ** Each nasty snap, crackle and pop was sought, targeted and eliminated by hand. At difficult spots, a second process involving automated plug-in thresholds helped to further control the wave-form anamolies. Why do it by hand rather than a "cleaning" plug-in? **Remastered** by thir13en 1992-02-05 Elysee FM, Paris, FR Some very sweet and fresh Pumpkins material from early '92 plus a quite coherent version of "Silverfuck", not far from the one that would appear on SD over a year later. **Remastered** by thir13en Smashing Pumpkins 1993-08-24 Melody Stockholm, Sweden This one underwent a bit of reverse-engineering. The bad news: It was pounding 0, rather crunchy-mid-rangy and just plain too loud. So I actually backed it up a bit, uncompressed it a little and gave it tonal accuracy as much as possible. Then de-noised a slight bit of crunch and finally restored it's digital presence. From the original, the over-all volume is nearly the same, but the EQ spectrum is fuller and much...

**Remastered** by thir13en Ooops! THIS IS IT! I put my 13 on it! Some of this was done on the "Spaceboy" boot. But these sources are of a better pFM copy I had laying around. Yea, I found it on an MP3 archive disc in a folder called SHN.Apparently I got this originally about 3 years ago and it's been hidden for a while. I came across it and realized it needed to get out there. After I did my thing, it sounds really nice, very good SD era show. The pFM did NOT have Bury Me, but I...

**Remastered** by thir13en Is it better than before? Am I glad I did it again? Will I stop asking no one in particular thses questions? All the sources were different. Better? Let's say not worse. So I did it again with these "pFM" sources. At this point I don't know what got used with what. Anything that seemed artificially beefed to me got axed. Most of the ones I used were rather bright and thin, I even found myself toning down the highs, not common in mastering. Some had channel...

I can't quite figure what's the deal with this source. This was clearly edited, much the way I would...

**Mastered** by thir13en Smashing Pumpkins 1995-10-23 Riviera Theatre Chicago, IL The day before MCIS would land in the stores, the band treated the local fans to an energetic and new-material filled spectacle. This show was simulcast and re-broadcast to many cities around the globe. Probably why there are so many versions of it out there. Just a quick look at SPFC shows a mind-boggling number of silver-sources. How to determine which was the best capture? You could listen to them all,...

**REMASTERED** by thir13en Smashing Pumpkins 1996-03-13 Triple J Studios Sydney, Australia After perusing through five different caps of this show, this source was the clear winner for purest lineage and integrity, and the best remaster candidate hands-down. A couple of the other sources were obviously worked over as well, but if I may be so bold, they were not as good as this. I've always loved this show. There are acoustic shows for nearly every stage of the Pumpkins career, each one...

**Remastered** by thir13en Smashing Pumpkins 1996-04-19 Messe B Stuttgart, DE A request, as apparently there is a big hole of my RM's in the 95-96 range...so I grabbed this off of Western Avenue and slapped it good. Great show, great mix, perfect for mastering. A slight drop on the right channel was fixed, and the track ID's were really screwy, some cutting off beginnings of songs, that's fixed as well. Not a single peice of show was edited; all banter, water sipping, chinese national anthems,...

**Remastered** by thir13en Smashing Pumpkins 1997-06-27 Glastonbury Festival No I haven't forgotten about these guys, just doing some other stuff that I like and that I knew others would want as well. But now let's rawk! A string of shows in which they were doing the newly released "Batman" song during the summer tours of '97, this one being my favorite of the versions. Plus great performances of By Starlight and Thru The Eyes of Ruby with a rare appearance of the B-side Transformer...

**Remastered** by thir13en Smashing Pumpkins 1997-06-28 Roskilde Festival Roskilde, DK Finally, a great show with a decent capture. As many of you may know, I prattled on endlessly about how awful the Exit Mellon Collie boot sounds, as if that were the only problem with it. EMC is seriously flawed in so many ways, and if you own a copy of it, burn it, cut it up, make a cool design out of the left-over shapes. It is utterly worthless. But this one is just right. Though still somewhat heavily FM...

**Remastered** by thir13en Smashing Pumpkins 1998-08-04 Fox Theatre Atlanta, GA A damn fine sounding source, transferred and\or mastered by someone who knew enough to master it to 0.0 without clipping. So why bother with it? Admittedly I'm near insanity with these things, compulsive beyond reason, but if it's not quite right I won't hear it. I share because it's been requested. At first pass, may not seem too different, but it is. I felt a hard line 3.5k that had to be subdued, some missing...

Some may like this-some may not, but hey, life's funny that way...I've done pro-audio for over 20 years now, and I just can't stand a crappy recording or even worse, a decent recording with just a plain bad master. I know this is direct from a cassette, but there was much to be improved upon anyway, IMHO...so for those that will enjoy, do so heartily, others who don't like it, well I can only hope you'll understand when I say I don't .... . .... ...Technical info: Each song had it's own...

**Remastered** By thir13en Smashing Pumpkins 2000-04-16 The Aragon Ballroom Chicago, IL No easy way to say this, so I'll just blurt it out: -----it's a different remaster than the one I did last spring. There, I said it------ So, I re-did this for a couple of reasons: 1. It was one helluva show, a personal favorite and I felt the first RM could be improved on a bit. 2. A friend who wanted my version of this show also happens to like the banter. He never asked me to put it back in. I did it as...

**Remastered** by thir13en Smashing Pumpkins Electric Factory; Philadelphia, PA 2000-05-01 A very cool show, lots of great versions of these tunes, seemed to run a bit longer than some other state-side Machina Tour shows. Even has a full version of Drown, a rarity live. This one starts weird, with Pale Scales sounding distant and lots of crowd. It comes in full about 1:25 in to the song. Beyond that it's a great sounding show, now bigger, fuller, maximized. Lots of banter edits on this one....

**Remastered** by thir13en Smashing Pumpkins 2000-05-06 Sunrise Theater Sunrise, Florida Another blistering performance from the Machina tour. But first let's tackle the source issue: 1. This came with none. 2. Each song had the two-second gaps that are typical of a TAO written disc. 3. It scopes a bit like a TV or Video cap, with that 15.5k tone, but plenty of range beyond 15 all the way up to 22.5k. I mention this because of the lurking "self-proclaimed-encoder-policeman" who...

**Remastered** by thir13en Smashing Pumpkins 2000-06-30 Budokan Tokyo, Japan I recently acquired this video source compliments of Onkel44 (and with much help from JellyBelly, as well as xdx, OG, blud and PN, thank you all!) Just one more great Machina show and yet another that was pro-shot during the spring and summer of 2000. As I was expecting when I first heard of this, it was unfortunately a mono source, and it contains the 15.75k horizontal frequency inherent in all video rips. But it also...

*A thir13en Matrix* Smashing Pumpkins 2000-09-23 Arena, Oberhausen, Germany On the AUD, the "pumping" of compression that's fighting the recording device is triggered mostly by the drums, and mostly in the electric section of the show. In the blend it added an interesting effect to the drums, as there is a kit-strike followed by a slight delay as the device get's hit, then responds slowly, creating a slap-back effect on the kit. I controlled it by using my own compression on the AUD....

AOL billed it as a "CD Quality" stream (more on that later). During the first minutes of the show, the MD crashed. I'm sure there was a breif moment contemplating the tossing of the MD out the window. But he courageously set it off on recording the rest of the show anyways. **Remastered** by thir13en MY FAQ: Smashing Pumpkins Live at the Music Hall Austin, Texas May 14, 2000 This is one that I meant to get out over a month ago, but the switch happened and it was sort of forgotten. JB upped the original recently, here's now the RM of it. Another great Machina show, their second night in Texas. Something about SP in Austin doesn't quite seem right, they don't really fit the scene there. Maybe they should have done a SRV song, or even a Butthole Surfers tune. Either...
