We are one of the oldest congregations in Franconia Mennonite Conference, the first Mennonite conference in the United States. The Swamp Congregation was founded in 1717 by Swiss German Mennonites and we moved into our current building in 1847 when we split from West Swamp because they chose to leave Franconia Conference to start a new one.
