Over the years many of the people I've interviewed have generously sent me all different kinds of historical Atari material — including source code, schematics, documentation, books and articles, and design documents — and allowed me to share them. This is the first time someone has sent me a professionally produced song they created for Atari. After I published my interview with Suzanne Ciani, she sent me an email: she had found an unpublished Atari spot in her archives. It's a tune titled...

The contents of a CD-ROM of freeware and shareware Atari ST software, published by the Seattle Puget-Sound Atari Computer Enthusiasts group. The CD is dated October 21, 2000. The CD-R that I have was showing its age and did not read perfectly. I was unable to make a .ISO image of it. But I was able to copy the vast majority of the files off of the CD and compress the collection into a .ZIP file. A few (6 to 7?) of the files just couldn't be read from the CD-ROM, but most of it is properly...

Scavange: a text adventure game for the Atari 8-bit computer, written in Atari BASIC, with a spelling error right there in the title. I wrote this game circa 1988. It was on floppy disk of Atari computer games that I wrote in middle-to-high school. It's a scavenger hunt that I wrote for use by callers to Weird City BBS (I still remember the number: 213-273-5234.) I don't know if anyone ever played it. The game doesn't have a traditional parser because I was lazy and/or didn't know how to...
