In 1998 a young country artist named John Wayne Willkenson approached me with a request to write him a song. I told him I had never written a country song but would love to take the challenge. I went home that night and wrote "Dreams Of Make Believe" in about ten minutes, and have tried to write others since then to no avail.... It was a fluke...lol... A few days after I gave John my lyrics and music I had written, he called me and asked me to perform it live with him at The Chasko County Fair in Florida. I accepted. We met that night and played the song 2 times at his managers house before the show and then we went onstage. Here is what happened... John Wayne Willkenson went on to form a top notch band and performed my song at festivals all across America.

Funny Sidenotes:
The wind was blowing so hard onstage that my cowboy hat kept wanting to blow off, so I had to hold my head in a way to avoid this from happening. That would have been totally Embarrassing....

With no real notice about this gig, I had to use this really cheap acoustic that had no pickup in it, so I borrowed one that fits in the sound hole. Right as soon as I started playing I noticed that it was starting to slip/fall inside of the guitar which would have also bee a disaster.... But it stayed and I was able to finish the song without too much trouble...
