I agree with jeffzkrazie that this is better than most westerns and Bob Steele western because of the rather original plot charged with a little more emotion than is usual, with some nice twists and turns, decent script, and above average acting. Steele is his usual straight arrow self displaying his riding skills, quick draw prowess and fist fighting ability. Ted Adams (Wolf Whitson aka Pop Whittaker) - usually a bad guy - is one here, but with a tender side - an unusually complex characterization and good outing for him. Ernie Adams (Grizzly Barr) is fine as Steele's old friend. Lew Meehan (Snake Bralt) and Karl Hackett (Durkin) show how their experience at playing bad guys paid off. And, Jean Carmen (Beth Lorimer) adds beauty and a little style as Steele's love at first sight sweetheart.

A decent story here, but the action is stiff and so is the Steele's acting. If you love B westerns, you'll add a star.

...mainly because the plot was more complex and less predictable than in the average Western. This is a story about two men who become close friends because of how they wind up on the wrong side of the law, but for the right reasons. It is definitely not your cut-and-dried, "white hats vs. black hats" sort of movie, but a little closer to the way that real life sometimes works. There are a few surprises, too, as some of the characters turn out not to be who they seemed, at first. Well written, and well played by a very good cast.

The print quality is mixed: the video is reasonably sharp, but the audio is mushy and distorted in places. The dialog can be made easier to understand by filtering the audio through an equalizer set to ramp up the higher frequencies and ramp down the lower ones (_/^).

I must say that I was quite shocked on how much I enjoyed this western. In my opinion It's quite above par for most of the b-westerns that's already here and I enjoyed it very much.
