Those who forget history
The value of this is to remind us graphically that violent mob mentality cannot be considered to be an aberration of the past. The line can be crossed anytime, as recent events in the U.S. illustrate.

Man v Man
While certainly no one deserves to be treated like an animal. Whether a viewer thinks this was "M's just desserts", or an atrocity in its own right. To refrain from posting evidence like this, is almost like saying it did not happen. Viewers should be able to watch or not watch. Perhaps the point of view is that this is near pr0nographic, having no redeeming value. This discussion could serve as an example of its redeeming value, no matter how difficult it may be to watch for some, or even most. When something invokes feelings, it is perhaps important enough to save.

Not sure this should be here
While Mussolini would have faced trial as a war criminal, no one deserves to be treated like that. And there were a lot more bodies than just him and his mistress, and not everyone in the crowd was cheering. Sometimes, some discretion is needed about posting.
