Hey! Bernie Sanders! Bet You Never Saw This.
A primo movie for Bernie Sanders fans to see.
Gail's father apparently grew up in a card carrying communist household. Those were not all that unusual in the 1920's and 30's. My aunt's household (farmers from downstate Illinois) moved north in the late 1920's. They were admitted communists - which btw, was not unusual for farmers because farming required all family members to pitch in (they actually were usually "socialists." )
Love that teachers means of illustrating Karl Marx's philosophy. Gail...that poor "A" student will have to be a "C" student just so everybody can be equal - regardless of whether or not they ever cracked a book.
This is what schools are today. Only today, everybody gets an "A" instead of a "C."
Good movie.

Horatio Algier Horse and Buggy Work and Wind Baloney!
Odd film which I thought was going to be a stifling film about Economics, turns out to be so much more as this is just another commie fearing film! A new teacher of economics demonstrates to the class how profit can be achieved. A girl refutes this, stating her father basically says everyone should help each other out and spread the wealth. The teacher demonstrates this principle the next day by averaging out test marks, giving bonus marks to poor students, and subtracting them from brilliant ones! Such displays shakes up everyone (especially with threats of allowances being taken away!) and soon even the girl's father is convinced what he said was wrong. See? what an odd film!
