in kansas city. two other officers were shot. one in sanibel, florida. the other in san antonio, texas. in st. louis, a 46-year-old sergeant was in his patrol car and shot twice by a gunman who pulled up alongside him and opened fire and sped off. that suspect was later killed by police. the officer is in critical, but stable condition. he is expected to survive. >> this officer was not involved in the traffic stop. he was not trying to pull this car over. this officer was driving down the road and ambushed by an individual who pointed a gun at him from inside of his car and shot out the police officer's window. >> until further notice, all officers in st. louis will ride two to a patrol car. the wounded sergeant spoke to fellow officers, but could not give a description of the shooter. and ten minutes outside

kansas city in gladstone, missouri, a police officer shot during a traffic stop late last night. the suspect also shot. the kansas city fop tweeting the officer is expected to survive. the suspect's condition and identity have yet to be confirmed. and sanibel, florida, west of ft. myers, an officer wounded in a drive-by shooting. he was in his patrol car following a routine traffic stop when someone pulled up and began firing. the officer tweeted at a hospital and released. the suspect was taken into custody after exchange gunfire with other officers. this is a sleepy bleach town. this is the first time in the history of the sanibel police department that an officer has been shot. to san antonio, the shooting death of the 50-year-old police officer was a targeted killing. detective benjamin marconi was gunned down outside of his car

during a traffic stop. hours ago, san antonio police released this picture of a man who may have information about the murder. let's get more from cnn's polo sandoval. >> reporter: police in san antonio in the middle of the major manhunt. they are trying to track down the person or persons responsible for the shooting death of the 20-year veteran of the force. at this point, investigators believe the officer was in the middle of the traffic stop outside the police department. filling out a citation for a driver when a third vehicle pulled up behind him. the person getting out of the car and walking up to the passenger side of the patrol vehicle and shooting the officer. the police chief saying the gun man later shot the officer again. now the search is on for the individual. here is san antonio police with the latest on the investigation. >> witness reports indicate the suspect to be a dark complexion

that trump is intrigued by the idea and perception of what it means for romney in the administration. particularly in the wake of the battle over the past 16 months. it is interesting to see how that plays out. one thing to keep our eye on. starting today, a focus on economic jobs. the economic transition landing teams and domestic policy. we are keeping a close eye on who the next big cabinet an pointme appointments will be. boris and christine. so donald trump could be placing a fellow billionaire in the cabinet. wilbur ross is a leading candidate for commerce secretary. he was a vocal donald trump supporter. he met with trump this weekend. no final decision yet, but ross is considered. the commerce secretary is the government's chief business advocate. the department compiles data on

economic growth and trade and incomes. he will oversee the 2020 census. who is wilbur ross? he is worth $2.9 billion. he is the chairman the ross & company. he made money from steel and coal companies. he is an art collector. his collection worth $150 million. the most important appointment is treasury secretary. in the running is steve mnuchin and we're told that jamie dimon. they are still talking about this name. unclear how serious that is. you know, he is a banker. >> potentially very controversy. >> that is really interesting. a lot of people who own the stock of the company. one day the stock fell a bit. we are watching closely.

in 2008, obama was 20 days in to the transition process before he choose his treasury secretary. we are told after thanksgiving most likely for the treasury secretary. another issue is defense candidate james mattis. the two met for a little over an hour on saturday. the president-elect characterized the four-star general as the real deal and true general's general. a source tells cnn that no decision is made, but he is leaning in that direction. melania and barron will remain behind in manhattan temporarily and donald trump will take the oval office after he oath of office. now as president-elect

alec baldwin tweeted this reply and equal time? there is no more equal time. now you try to be president and people respond. that's pretty much it. that's where we are right now. alec baldwin and the president going at it. breaking overnight. authorities calling this a riot. about 400 demonstrators are trying to cross a bridge in order to breach a police barrier and reach a nearby highway. one person arrested. the protesters claim they were attacked by officers with tear gas and water cannons in sub freezing temperatures. police say protesters set fires in the area. this 1,200 mile pipeline will connect north dakota to networks in illinois. protesters say it would threaten the environment and drinking water and destroy native-american burial and prayer sites.

potential major problems ahead for travelers, especially in the midwest who are expected to find out if employees at o'hare will go on strike during the thanksgiving holiday. the union is expected to announce this morning when non union januaitors and other serve workers will walk off the dog. employees voted overwhelmingly last thursday to strike. they are pushing for a $15 an hour wage and better working conditions. keep in mind, o'hare is one of the busiest airports in the world. the fourth busiest. on one of the biggest traveling holidays of the year. we should find out soon there. to sports now. how about the cowboys? super bowl fever gripping dallas. fans are watching the games in church. coy wire has the bleacher report next.
