calling on congressional committees that are investigating the russian activity and ties between trump aides and russian officials. those committees are asked to look into quote whether executive branch powers were abused in 2016. now democrats and republicans are asking what the president is basing accusations on. >> i'm not sure what it is he is talking about. perhaps the president has information not yet able to us or the public. if it is true, we will find out. if it isn't, he will have to explain. >> the president has called for congressional investigations into the allegations he made starting yesterday morning. i would expect that he is going to want to provide our committee with any evidence that he has. >> reporter: so there you have a republican saying she expects the president to provide evidence backing up his claims if there is any. this comes as we learn late

then rush limbaugh and breitbart. rece published a story and circulated in the west wing. according to jeff zeleny, this infuriated president trump. we saw him tweet about it. he said he just found on about the theory and shared it on twitter. the best evidence shows this was coming from mark levine and breitbart. they have seucceeded. saying this is all obama's fault. >> this is a president who derides media reports using anonymous sources. this man based on anonymous sources. greg, it is one thing how big a story it is if it is true. what about if it is false? >> i'm not sure it damages him with his base. his base is in a different

universe. he can make a case, guys, that the obama administration intelligence community is out to get him. i think you may not believe it, but that is a case that he can make. frankly, i think the bigger problem for him is this is still another distraction. we are getting into spring now. we have to start talking about obamacare and tax reform and all of these issues that he wants to get done. he keeps stepping on his message and all of these big issues keep getting moved. >> greg, i'm glad you bring that up. in a way, his team saying look at what we accomplished. we are doing more to transform the economy. president trump himself changed the story line. we would talk today about the sessions stuff could have petered out eventually. maybe a little kate mckinnon on snl. the president himself has

stepped on that message. >> christine, today we would talk about the new immigration rules and obamacare fight reaching a crescendo in the house. all of these are obscured by the charges he made over the weekend. >> to be fair, we are trying to talk about those things. these things matter to people and business. >> to be fair, former bush attorney general says he thinks he is right. there was surveillance conducted at the behest of the attorney general. who is speaking for the president ins terms of showing the evidence where this came from? >> president trump is declassifier in cheechief. instead, sean spicer says there will be no comment from the white house. that is not quite true. some aides were tweeting about this. criticizing the media. spicer will not have an on-camera briefing today.

free world and potentially have to lead the world in international crisis, how do you trust the information? >> the president has the ability to be the most informed person in the world. he has the agencies at his disposal. fbi and nsa and cia. when he turns to breitbart or mark levine's radio show. or the most credible sources rather than government information, it certainly leaves a lot of people confused and caused weekend of chaos. you have "the washington post" saying 17 sources seething at the cable news coverage. this is the disarray in the white house. caused by his own tweets. >> greg, we have three senators on the intelligence committee saying there is no evidence. what is the next move?

the diepartment of jusof justin? justice? >> i think one of the key stories is how many defect? a lot more like marco rubio feel this guy is becoming a political liability. we are not there yet. i do think that is the next big story? >> greg, obamacare. we are looking for overhaul this week. can the president and paul ryan hold the conservatives together? that is the other big story. >> he needs to inject himself into the debate. it could stall out in the house despite paul ryan. a lot of conservatives don't like the refundable tax credits. i think trump has to get involved. does he have that time? we hear stories who goes next? priebus? spicer? there is all this intrigue within the white house. i think that will preclude trump from playing a bill role on

meaning the range is further if it was flying straight. this is a great concern for those in the region. the south koreans had a national security council meeting early on monday. the acting president said north korea is acting in defiance of the international community. the consequences of the north korea armed regime and its nuclear abilities is appalling. the military drills for japan and u.s. are routine. every year, without fail, north korea is angered. they see them as a practice to invade north korea which the u.s. and south korea deny. we often see the ballistic missile tests increasing this time of year and it appears this year is no different. dave. >> this is on the heels of
