>> mr. speaker, i rise in recognition of national nurse's day to thank the men and women across the country and comfort the hurting and keep our health care system running. mrs. miller meeks: i began my career as aers in, my sisters was a nurse and my husband was a nurse. i understand the long hours, emotional toll, deep responsibility and gratification that comes with the job. today we face a nationwide shortage of nurses, especially in rural areas like many in iowa. it's not just a work force issue but a public health crisis. we must do more to support and strengthen the nursing profession by expanding training opportunities, reducing burnout, and investing in the future of care. nurses don't ask for recognition but they sure deserve it. on national nurses day and every day, i say thank you and promise to keep fighting for you in congress. mr. speaker, i yield back. the speaker pro tempore: thank you, congresswoman m.m.m.
