This report describes research conducted under the subject grant by the Applied Physics Laboratory of the University of Washington. Key results of this research effort include: (1) the development of a prototype software package for leadership network modeling and analysis which integrates quantitative techniques from nonlinear systems theory and network science; (2) the development and application of methods of relating network structure and ideology for insurgent movements; and (3) the development of a mathematical model for the simultaneous evolution of insurgent alliance ties and their allocation of force policies.
