Studyin' about Pahneer Life
After curious opening music.. which becomes evident why it was used as the film goes on, this film shows an interesting, but somewhat bureaucratic way of teaching. The class is learning about pioneer life, but portions of classroom time are held by discussing what should be taught in the lesson by the teacher and students. Interesting in concept, but I highly doubt it could be pulled off in reality. I seriously doubt any elementary student would want to know about how they governed themselves without some sort of prodding. From there, they are further broken down into sections, each of them learning something specific to share with the class. Again, not really effective without some sort of central figure leading the way more often then none. Good intentions, but doubt this could work. To end on a positive note, I really did love the deep eastern US accents all of these folks had.
