OK Hallmark version
As I find so often, the book is much better. There are many aspects of this story that are missing or changed. I imagine this was done to streamline the length and give it that Hallmark "nice" feeling. That being said, this movie is a fine family type, well worth 1.5 hours of your time. I highly recommend reading the book though.

Sweet story
This movie is a heart-warming story of a little girl who wants to be wanted and loved. While the movie doesn't fully capture the many emotions and characters in the book, it is still one of the sweetest stories I have ever read. I will forever love Ellen Foster.
