diabetic. i'm also struck by the fact that people are afraid to change their diet. >> well, we -- hear so many mixed reports. what you have to do is look at somebody that's getting the results that you desire. and then just do what they are doing. that's the old secret of success. find someone that's getting results you desire and do what they are doing. >> it is funny you would say that. when i was choosing a regime for my lifestyle, i looked at all the doctors out there. i chose dr. brantley as -- that's what i want to look like and so i adopted what he did had was raw food. i have not regretted it or looked back one day. i had heavy duty allergies. i know a lot of people do. especially food allergies. what can you tell us about the correlation between food allergies and food? >> it is increasing. increasing dramatically. hi terrible allergies as well, pollen and food allergies. >> do you have them now? >> well, i have been able to get rid of it. >> that's what people don't understand. you can get rid of allergies. >> absolutely. it was crippling actually. every now and then if i run myself down i can feel itchy
eyes sometimes or tin gl in the back of my throat. the way i got sensitive to pollens or things like that. >> what is happening there? >> what's happening is my adrenals are getting taxed. i'm going low in sodium. the right kind of sodium. this is an important thing i discovered in my own research on my own allergies. i started finding out there is a relationship between hydration and having the right kind of salt. and what we have recommended for people with allergies is doing the salt switch. switching from table salt and move to sea salt. i started using sea salt. it was like an instinct or intuition that started caming through and started drinking saltwater when i feel allergies coming back. i take pure water. couple pinches of salt to it. sea salt. drink that. all of a sudden it would go away. i started looking into this further. i found it was in the old medical books in the 1850 az me parents had. >> there are a lot offings in the old medical books they cut out to make room.
let's talk about that in another show. tell us other things that you can do in order to help with your allergies. >> you have to take the burden off your body and the ear zpants toxins. eat things that are non-inflammatory. omega 3 fatty acids, anti-inflammatory. anti-6 can be inflammatory. people are sensitive to nuts. that's high in omega 6. we want things more rich in omega 3s. it is because of the proteins and oils. it is also because of the one other factor as well. one of the things about nuts other than omega 6 is that it is just dash a lot of food. very heavy. >> do you find that maybe detoxifying the body would help with -- >> helps dramatically. rights. it is a whole process. let's waik walk you through it. we want to get verse order what is healthy food. irritants out of our diet, kel kals, fillers. chemicals. they are very allergenic. we want to bring those down and then start on the detox program.
absolutely. >> add salt and water. it can be as simple as all of that. oh, my gosh. you shed so much light on allergies today. i so appreciate your coming here. i know we will have you back on again because you are a genius when it comes to these little things. thank you, david. up next, the folks from derma wand are here to explain to me how can help keep me young. with a fresh baked brownie? ♪ yes! yes you can. bake the world a better place with nestle toll house.
