11:00 pm
endeavor. we have also confirmed once again that the rok/u.s. alliance is firm and strong and shenandoah valley, yes, i did it. thanks for watching. [♪] jesse: welcome to. "watters' world." backfiring activism. hard core democratic activists are threat being to overwhelm the rest of the party. they disrupt peaceful events and cause violence. this week we saw a teenager attacked for wearing a make america great again hat. in lower manhattan americans were sightseeing. suddenly a radical african-american activist began scaling the statue of liberty.
11:01 pm
the woman, part of the trump resistance movement refused to come down. police and firemen were deployed. the entire liberty island filled with 4,000 tourists were evacuated. 3,000 visitors were turned away on the monument's biggest day of the year because one individual didn't agree with president trump's immigration policy. she was born in the congo and she probably won't even spend a day in jail. after diverting police resources from fighting real crime and ruining thousands of people's visits to the monument on july 4. president trump weighed in. president trump: you see that
11:02 pm
clown on the statue of liberty? i would have said just get some nets and wait until she comes down. jesse: she has filed self seemingly frivolous discrimination lawsuits. she had run-ins with neighbors. she has been slapped with $5,000 in fines by the department of sanitation and she has been arrested fortress passion and assaulting an officer. and she says she was inspired by michelle obama. our beloved first lady that i care so much about. when they go low. we go high. and i went as high as i could. trump has wrecked this country apart. nothing you can say to me would
11:03 pm
justify putting children in cages. only the stupid unintelligent cowards. would rip a tender age child from his mother. jesse: i don't think michelle obama wants an endorsement. the photo of a child in a cage was from 2014. the obama administration did that. trump didn't put that kid in a cage. fake news is causing real rage. we all want families to say together while at the same time protecting our border and protecting children from fake parent human smugglers. you will remember black lives matters protesters disrupted the macy's thanksgiving day parade while parents were celebrating
11:04 pm
the parade with their young kids. occupy wall street protesters shut down traffic in detroit so people couldn't commute to work on time and earn their income. left wingers who were screaming with trump's rhetoric fire bombed a limo owned by a muslim immigrant. idiots. democrats protested an i.c.e. raid in oakland. >> i.c.e. is not welcome in this country. >> we are going to fight back. we are not going to let people disappear like this. jess require turns out i.c.e. was conducting a raid on human tks traffickers -- sex traffickers. democrats were protesting against this. trump's approval rating is up with hispanics.
11:05 pm
it's up 10 points. this according to a harvard-harris poll released a few days ago. amazing. now the most of important issue determining people's votes in the mid-terms? immigration. largely driven by republican enthusiasm. democrats, your radical tactics are backfiring. be careful what you wish for. here to join us is herman cain. what would you have done with that woman who scaled the statue of liberty? >> i would have waited until she got hungry enough and thirsty enough to come down. i would have just waited her out. jesse: but everyone wouldn't
11:06 pm
have been able to visit. >> you are right. that whole indent was another example of -- i know these word are harsh. another example of the ignorant narrative of abolish i.c.e. it's ignorant, because most of people claiming they want the abolish i.c.e. they have no idea what i.c.e. does. one-third of ice rsh's activities revolve around immigration and the border. 2/3 revolve around fighting crime, drugs, sex trafficking and a lot of other things. they have no idea. they are just following a narrative. jesse: the protesters were protesting an i.c.e. raid on a human sex trafficking ring in oakland, california north of the southern border. they don't get it.
11:07 pm
it's these people turning regular americans against their cause. we say the with black lives matter when they were disrupting things, and you ait with occupy wall street. the protests start off righteous cause against police brutality, they want higher wages. but their tactics are so rude and disrespectful. they are so marginalized no one takes them seriously anymore. >> in the case of obama's i.c.e., i don't call it a movement. it's an ignorant narrative. a lot of people are falling for it because i don't believe the protests are spontaneous. i believe they are manufactured. in order to have a manufactured protest, somebody is paying somebody to make it happen and
11:08 pm
maybe even some of the protesters. jesse: you are exactly right. the resist trump, rise and resist whatever this woman's group is. if you go down to the bottom there is a donation from act blue. it's a mainstream democrat clearing house where they run all the donations through. they want to get rid of nukes. they want to get rid of sean hannity. they idolize stormy daniels. they are for kneeling during "the national anthem" and out of the trump regime whatever that means. >> it's called anarchy. it begins by creating as much violence and disruption as you possibly can. a lot of people are responding
11:09 pm
to the narrow lens of the media. they put the narrow lens of the liberal media on all of these froa protest activities. people climbing up to the base of the statue of liberty. that does not represent america. the numbers you quoted with the president's approval rating going up with hispanics. they are going up with everybody. because real people with real sense aren't falling for this malarkey. that's the good news in the middle of this chaos. jesse: hollywood liberals feeling less than pay the why the i can on all days, the 4th of july. chelsea handler tweeting to every country on the 4th of july. we are sorry about our president. he doesn't reflect all our views and the majority of us are
11:10 pm
ashamed. michael moore said this. happy resistance day. the revolt continues. some 242 years later. come on, people, let's finish this. not to be left out. i refuse to let donald trump have the flag of the united states as his own. i refuse to have the stars spanningled banner as a cudgel against free speech. i refused to bow to cynicism. why aren't liberals proud of america on the 4th of july. joining me philippe reines and gina loudon. gina, do democrats have a
11:11 pm
patriotism problem? >> polling suggests perhaps they do. polling suggests democrats tend to be patriotic based upon who is occupying the white house rather than the founding principles of america, the constitution, the struggles of our founding fathers to establish our country. that's what conservatives tend to base their conservatism on. democrats feel more patriotic when they are protesting. 51% said they believe the patriotic thing to do is to break a law or refuse to go to a law and burn a flag. the lines are very different between democrats and republicans. jesse: burning a flag is patriotic. i don't think that's what most of americans believe. >> most of americans don't
11:12 pm
approve of what donald trump is doing. his numbers are still abysmal. jesse: what does that have to do with patriotism. >> i don't think any of this has to do with fatism. july 4 is not just about bottle rockets and hot dogs. it was the ultimate protest telling king george we are not going to have any more of this. to talk about the polls you and dr. gina were talking about. brit hume made a tweet that he had to take back because it was unfair to label democrats as being patriotic. jesse: let's take a look at the poll. this is from gallup. national pride dropping among democrats. 2018. just 32% proud americans.
11:13 pm
republicans, 74%. from 2013 it has gone down more than 20 points. republicans have pretty much stayed the same. what do you account for that? >> the bulk of the drop started in 2015 forward and the bulk of the republican spike started. jesse: it's not much of a spike. >> this is essentially a referendum on donald trump. these numbers on pride have been going down since before 9/11 with both parties. jesse: let's -- trump wasn't president in 2015. i think the democrats have a patriotism problem because when you talk about what they did with the kneelers during "the national anthem." a lot of people in the media
11:14 pm
sided with kim jong-un against donald trump. we saw bill maher rooting for an economic recession. it seems based upon their behavior and rhetoric, they don't like america when it's robust, when it's succeeding, and when it's patriotic. is that too large of a jump? >> i wish it weren't. i hate the whole thing, to be honest with you. i feel like if we could sit down, republicans and democrats, and have a conversation, i don't think there is that much we disagree about. but the rhetoric of the leadership, the media and the hollywood elite is influencing people participating in these polls to say outlandish things.
11:15 pm
so if that's the kind of thing they are because it on, it's a sad day in america. jesse: i don't want to diminish anybody's patriotism. i am just look at the behavior. when you protest july 4 and when you protest columbus day. when you kneel during "the national anthem." people get the wrong idea. >> what idea do people get when alex jones of info wars says the democratic party is about to launch a civil war on july 4. what message does it send when the right attacked npr for tweeting the declaration of independence one tweet at a time. jesse: michael moore said let's revolt. let's finish it this time.
11:16 pm
calling for a little violent action against king trump. i have got to leave it at that. both of you two are very patriotic in my opinion. coming up, ben shapiro on the supreme court pick. a. "watters' world's" exclusive. the boy attacked for wearing an the boy attacked for wearing an america great again hat is here.
11:17 pm
11:18 pm
11:19 pm
any paint can change the way a room looks. but only one can change how it feels. century, from benjamin moore, is the first-ever soft touch matte finish paint. its revolutionary texture unlocks 75 unprecedented colors, each with exquisite depth and richness. it's a difference you can see, touch, and feel. that's proudly particular. century. only at select local paint and hardware stores. this wi-fi is fast. ceni know! i know! i know! i know! when did brian move back in? brian's back? he doesn't get my room. he's only going to be here for like a week. like a month, tops. oh boy.
11:20 pm
wi-fi fast enough for the whole family is simple, easy, awesome. in many cultures, young men would stay with their families until their 40's. >> his only thoughts to me are to work with vladimir putin to make russia great again. our harsh on putin than obama was. >> 200 russian soldiers were killed by u.s. forces under donald trump, not barack obama. crimea was annexed under barack obama. jesse: ben shapiro in the lion's den with bill maher. jesse: you probably stumped him
11:21 pm
because he was high and smoked before the show. but i want to talk to you about the top three scotus picks. tell me what your assessment is of brett kavanaugh who seems to be the early establishment insider frontrunner. >> i'm dicey on brett kavanaugh. he was one of the forces behind the selection of john roberts. but there are two situations where he has done less than originalists would like. he denied jurisdiction on obamacare because he said it was a tax. it's the first time anybody made the argument obamacare was a tax rather than a fine. and that's the logic that ended up being used by chief justice roberts. that came from a cavanaugh dissent. there is another case in which
11:22 pm
kavanaugh suggests the government had a compelling interest in providing contraceptive care. that case is a little bit of evidence that he takes seriously the government's stated interest in leftive issues. jesse: the wall street editorial page endorsed him. matt schlapp also endorsed him. it wouldn't be a bad pick. you are saying we could do better. one of the people i heard you discuss is amy barrett who i think now a lot of the social conservatives and the constitutional conservatives are really getting behind at the last minute. she seemed to be surging. what are you hearing about her? >> the truth is that coney barrett's judicial resume is short. she has only been on the circuit court for a year.
11:23 pm
she had contentious hearings with the democrats. we know she has written a lot in terms of academic writing. a lot of it centered on originalism and contextualism. she is obviously very pro-life. and so. jesse: she is 4 years old. so that would be a very long time on the bench if she was appointed. a catholic person who interprets the constitution as it was written. now we are hearing about raymond kethledge. the third person. he was the runner up to gorsuch. now he's making a late surge. he clerked for kennedy. university of michigan guy. what do you know about him? >> his resume is quite good. his decisions are strong and
11:24 pm
well word. they are politically inclined, he's attempting to create cohesion. kethledge is punch them in the nose opinion. he has a strong record on the second amendment and the chevron deference. that when an administrative agency makes a decision, he says the judiciary is a separate branch. i think kethledge is a strong candidate. jesse: if you were to range the most of conservative to the least conservative. the person you would like to see on the bench the most of, you probably would choose barrett, do i have that right? >> that's right. jesse: all solid picks to replace justice kennedy. >> the best shot one of them probably end up being roberts is
11:25 pm
kavanaugh. jesse: this new memo we are seeing from peter strzok. i don't know why this didn't come up in the i am g. report or the other requests to turn over these memos and text messages. there was something that said hurry the f up to pressure to probe the trump campaign in the fall of 2016. he's talking about hurrying this thing up, obviously politically and electorally motivated. ways your thinking behind that? >> it's not a shock at all. michael horowitz in that i.g. report suggested peter strzok was making decisions to privilege the timing of the trump investigation above the hillary investigation. they say the reason the hillary investigation was delayed until
11:26 pm
october. strzok is a political actor. even more kits suggested as much in that much-maligned i am g. report. if the fbi was not out to get president trump, certainly peter strzok was. jesse: he was too much of a political hack to be on the mueller team. so ether way he poisons it, it's a matter of how farther going to take that. the dnc chairman, perez. he was asked about this woman out of the bronx, alexandria ocasio-cortez who is an abolish i.c.e. activist and avowed socialist. here is what the chairman of the dnc said about an devout socialist. >> i have two daughters. one just graduated college and one is still in college. they were texting me about their
11:27 pm
excitement about alexandria because she represents the future of our party. jesse: if she is the future of the democratic party, i don't think they have a future. >> they have moved dramatically left and alexandria ocasio-cortez represents the merger of the left wing of the democratic party with the bernie sanders democratic party. we live in a country that tends to swing back and forth between the countries. it's not good that the democratic party has moved so far to the left. because you have to imagine sometime these jokers could be back in power. jesse: you saw obama take the party left. i can't believe it. hopefully it doesn't swing that far to the left, ben.
11:28 pm
got to run. >> thanks so much. jesse: a socialist who disagrees with everything ben and i just said is here to defend socialism. buckle up.
11:29 pm
11:30 pm
11:31 pm
11:32 pm
11:33 pm
[♪] jesse: the new rallying cry at the socialism convention in chicago. democratic millennials moving towards socialism en masse. but is the movement the future or destruction of the democratic party. i just want to go slowly here. socialism confuses me a little bit. has socialism worked anywhere it's been tried? >> i think what we are working towards is something we have yet to see. socialism at its core, the ownership and control over
11:34 pm
production. so i think it's important you understand what it means and your viewers understands what it means. so we are capable of progress. jesse: did they try social i. in venezuela? -- try socialism in venezuela? >> i expected you to bring up venezuela. it's such a weak talking point. you are talking to somebody who lives in a city with 50,000 homeless people. jesse: has it worked in cuba other soviet union? >> let's look at cuba's literacy rate and healthcare. let's look at countries with universal healthcare and how they rank against the united states. them far outr outrank. jesse: a lot of rich canadians come to america to get their surgery. >> you are wrong. jesse: that's your opinion.
11:35 pm
>> and you don't care that you are wrong which is bizarre. jesse: i don't believe i'm wrong. but let's focus on america. you want socialism to replace capitalism in america? >> of course i do. i am a socialist. to say i don't want to see an end to exploitation and oppression. jesse: i pay about 50% in taxes to the government. how high would you like to see my taxes raised to? >> we would support a progressive income tax. jesse: how much? i am trying to move the covering forward. i want to get specific. what would you like to see me pay in taxes. >> i don't know how much you earn. but let's say hypothetical million dollars. let's say you were taxed 70%.
11:36 pm
if you can't get by on $300,000 in a country where so many people are struggling. this is the reason you are having a problem. miss smug smartness when people are suffering. it's not resonating with people. your days are over. jesse: there is more suffering in china and cuba and venezuela, and the soviet union. it's not those countries that feed the world and protect the world. it's the united states of america, and we have capitalism. >> the united states destroys the world. you have got to be kidding me. conservative estimates since world war ii show u.s. killed at least 20 million since world war ii. the united states an imperialist country. riches are built on the backs of the developing world.
11:37 pm
jesse: i don't know what you would have done with nazi germany, but i think america made the right decision there. i will have you back on. but we have got to pay the bills so we have to sell advertising. we have to have a commercial break. up next, diamond and silk on pocahontas. low i.q. max seen and seaso -- .
11:38 pm
11:39 pm
11:40 pm
11:41 pm
jesse: during his montana rally thursday he launched his latest attack on elizabeth washen. he calls her pocahontas. president trump: when i
11:42 pm
announced they are going to endorse me, should i lose or if i don't run, they are out of business. are they going to cover bernie? they are going to cover like sleepy joe biden? they are going to cover pocahontas? think of it. think of it. she of the great tribal heritage. what tribe is it. let me think about that one. she based her life on being a minority. pocahontas. they always want me to apologize for saying it. i hereby. pocahontas i apologize to you. i apologize. to you i apologize. to the fake pocahontas, i won't apologize. it's causing her problems. because now even the liberals are saying take a test. take a test.
11:43 pm
you know, i tell you -- i shouldn't tell you because i like not to give away secrets. let's say i'm debating pocahontas. i promise you i will do this. you know those little kits they sell on television for $2? in the middle of the debate when she proclaims that she is of indian heritage because her mother said she has high cheekbones, that's her only evidence, that her mother said she had high cheekbones. we'll gently take that kit and slowly toss it, hoping it doesn't hit her and injure her arm. even though it probably weighs 2 ounces. i will give you a million dollars your favorite charity paid for by trump if you take the test and it shows you are an indian. jesse: that was one of the best
11:44 pm
performances i have seen the president deliver in a while. do you think pocahontas is going to take the test? >> she should come clean. she should come clean about her heritage and also come clean about what's going on down there at the border. instead of blaming president trump she needs to come clean and let everybody know how they were being hypocrites. she did not protest against obama and his administration when he had children locked up in cages. jesse: that's true. i don't mean to disparage her when i call her pocahontas. i am mimicking the president. she brought that controversy on herself and she could brit to an end but i don't think she'll take the test. i want to ask you about the president's performance at the montana rally. check out what he said about
11:45 pm
maxine waters. president trump: i said it the other day, yes, she is a low i.q. individual. maxine waters. she is somewhere in the mid 60s. he'll be impeached. i will impeach him. even the democrats are saying, how are you saying that? they don't want to use that word because it gets the republicans out to vote. they say stay away from that word. jesse: maxine is in a bit of a beef with top democrats. chuck schumer told her to pipe down. rushing people at restaurants. now the democrats are saying leave max seen alone. it's civil war on the democratic side. >> yes, it is. the president is right. maxine waters i.q. is very low. we look at her as a domestic
11:46 pm
terrorist. she is telling americans to attack other americans. maxine waters and her rhetoric is the gift that keeps on giving to the republican party because she represents the party of divisiveness. jesse: i wouldn't go so far as to call her a domestic terrorist. that might be a little over the line, but lastly, remember sinbad from back in the day? >> yes, we do. jesse: i think he popped out of the pirate ship and reemerged on some cable news station and took a shot at the president's twitter habits. he loves to twitter slam people because you never see him face to face. >> are you suggesting that not unlike drake's observation people with twitter fingers aren't as hard-core when you meet them in person? >> most of people who are
11:47 pm
gainingers wouldn't hurt a fly. that's why they live behind the keyboard. >> what's wrong with sinbad, he's trying to revamp his career. but look at his own stuff. he's still living in a different world or another world. listen, we don't look at him as a comedian. we look at him as nothing but a joke. jesse: i don't think other people look at him as a comedian anymore either ladies. got to run. an exclusive interview with a 16-year-old who was attacked for being a more and more people are finding themselves in a chevy for the first time. now you can too during the chevy 4th of july sales event. now through july 9, get 10 to 20 percent below msrp on your favorite chevy models

[bleep] [bleep] jesse: unbelievable.
11:52 pm
the proud american who was bullied joins me in a. "watters' world's" exclusive interview. did you say anything to provoke this? were you talking about anything? or did he just come out of the blue? >> before he came over and knocked my hat off my head. i don't believe any of my friends made eye contact with him. jesse: were you talking about anything that alarmed him. were you talking about the wall or little rocket man? what were you saying? >> i believe the conversation when he came over was about pokemon. jesse: he has been arrested. and he has a rap sheet. he has a past arrest for dwi, marijuana, burglary, so he's not a good guy. he's been fired from his job. did you feel scared when he was
11:53 pm
coming over? did you know he was coming over in an aggressive fashion? >> i saw his hand come over. he ripped the hat off my head. he pulled my head a little bit. i was shocked. i felt threatened. jesse: he threw the soda in your face. did you think about doing anything? he looked bigger than you. >> he was definitely bigger man me. a 3. > -- a 30-year-old adult thinks. jesse: do you plan on pressing charges? >> we went to the police and gave a statement. i think it's out of our hands on whether we are going to press charges. i think the clarnlgts are pressed for theft. jesse: because he stole the hat.
11:54 pm
jesse: i think you might get a hat sent to you. i am sure you will have a nice little make america great again hat collection. i'm glad you are okay. anything you want to say to this guy or people watching at home? >> i just say this isn't acceptable. the whole reason i'm doing this is no person should think this is acceptable and they can get away with it. but people make mistakes. so i'm not holding it against this guy. he made a mistake. this is not acceptable. jesse: hunter, a very mature reaction. i probably wouldn't have reacted that way, but i appreciate your civility. up next, last call. with my blad, the products i've tried just didn't fit right. they were very saggy. it's getting in the way of our camping trips.
