dan: we are back with a fox news alert. an fbi whistleblower tells all. when people in law enforcement

abuse that privilege and things happen at the top of agencies like the fbi that are not law enforcement but partisan politics, we are going to call it out. a few weeks back we had an fbi agent on the show with stunning revelations exposing some of the agency's political bias. one is steve brand who joins me for an unfiltered exclusive interview. what did you see at the fbi that crossed the line for you when you decide you were going to blow the whistle. >> thanks again, dan, for having me on. my ordeal began when i got moved over to the joint terrorism task force in my office here in florida. that happened last october about

a year ago. i had access to some of the january 6 investigations going on from the jacksonville field office and i noticed the rules were not being followed as they are laid now the our guidance for carrying out investigations. after some time looking at these cases, it raised the level of my concern that i wanted to express my worries with my supervisor and made that protected disclosure to him last august prior to some arrests and search operations going on with the january 6 subjects in our area of responsibility. the decision was made that the field offices around the country would be handling email subject that resides in their area. at that point the responsibility for pursuing that investigation should have rested with the field office and the agents and officers who worked in those offices to carry out the

investigation. unfortunately and unusually, the washington task force was giving directives out to the field on crucial components of the cases and ultimately deciding whether charges should be brought against individuals participating in the january 6 incident. dan: do you think it was motivated by politics or some ininvestigative need? >> i asked and was told when they inquiried bit they were told it was to get quote-unquote buy-in from the field. that was not a term i was familiar will. i can only speculate about motivations. the end result of that is a flattening of a high number of cases of rioting and terrorist versus graitions one incident on january 6, 2021 in one location.

thoas those were spread around the country and the figures on appearance domestic terrorism was a national issue as opposed to a one-off incident. dan: if you were to spread the cases, though they clearly happened at the capitol and it should have been a washington case, they were spread around the country given different case numbers making the domestic terrorism cases more than they were. >> yes. the bottom line number wasn't going to change. but by spreading the numbers around i use the analogy of look at police officer deaths in the line of duty. anybody who has statistician backgrounds knows the 9/11

attacks resulted in deaths of nypd police officers. that caused the nationwide number for the year to spike but it didn't indicate an uptick in violence dense police officers. the bottom line number for the domestic terror investigations for the particular year or two years hasn't changed but given the illusion there is an ongoing to mess particular terrorism violence problem going around the country. dan: what happened when you blew the whistle. you obviously had legitimate concerns. did they entertain your concerns? what happened? >> i made my initial disclosure to my immediate supervisor. after a few days i poke to the next level of supervisors, ultimately spoke to the agent?

charge in jacksonville. i was initially put as awol for one day. that was during the arrest that took place for the january 6 investigations going on. and i was suspended without pay approximately a month ago. danr. dan: your wife was brought into this as well. your wife was censored on facebook putting some of this information out there? >> censored for sharing a direct message with an individual. my wife is not an agent. she is an i am grant to this country from ukraine. her facebook account is private. it does not have her name displayed in english. she only uses the account to send direct messages and look at family pictures. my wife sent her a direct

message and within minutes her facebook account was suspended for violating the terms of use. it was a suspension and the following day it was permanently shut down. dan: regarding the christopher steele case, did the case being investigated now, without getting into the weeds on that. it temperatures clear the fbi was paying multiple source and some agents went in front of a magistrate and swore out the things they swore were true which weren't. if we are going to have a fisa court that's not adversarial with no defense attorney in there, it's important to have people with honor and integrity swearing that the things are true. this is a serious case. >> yes, it is. it's a serious allegation. i don't have direct knowledge.

but i'm happy this has come to the public's awareness similar to my complaints. if it bears out to be accurate. i think it indicates a pattern in the fbi's behavior that it's willing to operate outside its rules for carrying out proper investigations which what i expressed in my whistleblower complaint. dan: i have got to imagine there are more people out there wanting to come forward to try to clean the agency up. >> i think so. i received a lot of outreaches specially from the retired agent community. the oath we took when we became special agents does have meaning and i have become fond of saying the oath doesn't retire and doesn't get suspended. the fbi's fidelity and integrity motto has to mean something to

whistleblower. he said he went to jacksonville thinking he was going to be on sex trafficking. he said dc is dictating all of this? and the statistics he talked about and how if you spread it out it looks like the domestic terrorism problem is bigger than broader than you could otherwise characterize it on. he adds it up and said this isn't what i signed up. then he did the right thing. he blew the whistle. i am old enough to remember when whistleblowers were celebrated by the left. this guy, you know, he will be fired i'm sure because that's what they will do to anyone who steps out of line. he talked about his superiors and others who clearly were not thrilled about this but felt like they had to go along

because this is what the fbi is doing. i thought that quote, the only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. he's a good man doing something. good on him for speaking up and speaking out. dan: you and i know fbi agents. the ones i knew were patriots. these guys were committed to their jobs and their country. i knew it was only a matter of time. i found it rewarding and refreshing that agent friend said there are more people he's talking to that are tired of the nonsense in the fbi. you knew this day was coming. >> you were predicting it because you know the rank and file just like i do. it's burning them up and eating them up inside not to speak out. i am thinking of lieutenant colonel stuart scheller says he
