i want johnny's job. florida in november? really? i don't think you want johnny's job. you're only seeing the good stuff. you're not seeing what he does behind the scenes. it is ugly. that's all for tonight. dvr the show. "tucker carlson" is up next. always remember, i'm watters. this is my world. ♪ ♪ >> tucker: good evening. welcome to "tucker carlson." hope you had a great thanksgiving. here's something we didn't know but now do. in the winter of 2020 tony fauci wanted to know how the chinese communist party was responding. he sent one of those his deputies, clifford lane, to china to find out. lane seemed stunned by what he saw there. entire chinese cities had been question and answer with teened. the whole city. huge numbers of people were

forcibly locked inside their own homes, in some cases to starve to death. secret police cruised the streets, forcing pedestrians into windowless vans for the crime of being outside. household pets, dogs and cats, were declared unclean, and beaten to death on the sidewalk. it was a hellish dystopian scene. so lane returned to the u.s. to tell tony fauci what he'd seen, but tony fauci was not disgusted, appalled by the human rights abuses that he saw in china. according to a new report, based on depositions that emerged this month, tony fauci was envious. they have what we have to do in the u.s., fauci t told lane. it's obvious from day one, china was the model that public health officials were why you having to respond to covid here. it's still the model. in fact, lockdowns are still happening in china. they never ended. our public health officials have never stopped applauding those
5:02 pm
lockdowns. in april of this year, the chinese government shut down shanghai, the largest city in china. it's one of the biggest cities in the world, the population three times the size of new york city. 25 million people. all 25 million are suffering indefinite lockdown. shanghai is the largest human prison camp in history. why is the chinese government doing this? no honest person believes it has anything to do with public health, because it doesn't, proveably. as of sunday, there were no covid deaths reported in china, a nation of a billion an and a f people. covid is not a threat to the chinese government. political unrest is a threat to the chinese government. always has been. that's the point. in china, as in the united states, covid policy is not a public health matter. covid policy is a way to strip

from the population the most basic civil liberties and remain in charge. that's very clear. that's exactly why our leaders support what's happening in china tonight, because they'd like to see it happen here too. hundreds of millions of people imprisoned across the country. that according to an epidemiologist is in everyone's interest. really? here's what it looks like in china. >> some were forced to quarantine outside in the cold, in parking lots. this viral video, which cnn could not verify, shows others forced to stay in bathrooms, sleeping under urinals. this one, the video says it's a quarantine site for kids. a little boy jumping on bricks to avoid the pool of dirty liquid, where they use the bathroom. this woman sobs on the ground crying, that after she was caught with her mask pulled down, the government suspended her business for 30 days, losing

a month's income. metal spikes, which the fan filming says were installed on a compound gate to prevent residents from leaving. >> tucker: hmm. so those are ad hoc covid concentration camps, but there are new purpose-built covid concentration camps under construction right now throughout china. a city in the west of china has been effectively been its own concentration camp for the last three months, completely locked down, residents unable to leave home. last week a huge fire broke out in an apartment complex in that city. the government sealed the doors, including the exits to the outside. it took firemen three hours to control the blaze. by that time, 10 people roasted to death inside, including a 3-year-old child. news spread throughout the country. in china, as in the united states, social media are censored by the people in charge. spent a lot of time and money

there and here censoring it. in the end it doesn't work. outrage has a way of getting through even the tightest filters. so protests began to form across china. those protests have since grown to become the biggest challenge to communist rule since the protests years ago.
5:06 pm
>> tucker: again, these are the biggest protests that we know about to occur in china since 1989. what's interesting is the reaction in this country. so you watch those clips and you wonder who could be rooting for the secret police in those clips? how could any decent person possibly be on the side of the chinese government against the population of the country, the people, against human rights, against human decency? who could root for the tank against the lone brave man standing in front of it? the answer is, unfortunately, some people could be on the side of the tank. some people could support the oppressors against the oppressed. in this country, many people do. one of them is tony fauci. here he is from yesterday, as
5:07 pm
people were being killed in china, for seeking the most basic freedoms, here's fauci suggesting once again that the chinese government is the model for our country, and we may need to close down our schools once more, even though as covid is as threatening as the flu. watch. >> coming out of the holidays, should parents expect schools to shut down? >> i don't know, margaret. i'm not sure. when you talk about shutting down schools, there's always th- >> that's also radioactive. >> exactly. there's also the collateral issue. you have to balance. you do it in real time, depending on the viral load of disease in your region. >> tucker: could we close the schools again? fascism with a chirpy face.

millions of vulnerable people. in other words, deporting your population to concentration camps is compassion. so you have to ask, since china is the biggest country in the world, our main rival, largest economy, what is the biden administration think of this? we must have a position on it. we have a state department that exists to think of positions on things like this. so what does the biden administration think? today a white house spokesman, john kirby, was asked for official reaction. here's what he said. >> what is the president's reaction when he hears protesters in china chant "freedom" or xi jinping step down? >> they're speaking for themselves. >> there's no reaction? >> they're speaking for

5:10 pm
yelping about what an authoritarian country this is, threatening people who live here with punishment. he has no problem threatening american voters in north carolina, for example, or texas, who wand separate bathrooms for little girls. what does he think of killing people for wanting to leave their apartment? we emailed his office today to get his view of chinese concentration camps. what does adam silver think of that? we didn't get a reply. why is that? because he makes billions of dollars in china. the nba has no words to say about china throwing its population into concentration camps, turning shanghai into a prison. when you ask nba coaches about civil rights in china, you get a lecture about how we're worse. watch. >> it's not come up, people

here, tucker, and yet they want to hold up russia, russia, as the biggest threat in the world, i'm not saying it's not a threat, it is a threat, but comparing china to russia whose economy is about the size of france's is ridiculous. china, as we know, is funding the war in ukraine right now. so, i mean, so i'm glad you're doing this tonight, because this is the single biggest threat to freedom and our own sovereignty and independence in the world right now, it is in china, our southern border. >> tucker: i'd be happy to live in a country that's sort of let other countries do their thing, they have weird customs in afghanistan, brunei, even china. they do their thing. we do ours. i'm happy with that. what i'm bothered, people defending mass concentration

camps, they attack america as immoral. why can't they support their own country? >> the bidens have made millions and millions of dollars in china, number one. number two, these people loath the american tradition. they believe we're an evil, awful, racist nation with sins that can never be redeemed, and never -- repairations are never enough. to your point about kirby, what he wouldn't say today, remember what joe biden said on june 2nd, 2020, after the floyd protests exploded. he said they were legitimate grievances and they should be a wake-up call for america. that's what he said when our nations in many cases were erupting in violence and flames. yet they're mute on a slave state in china? excuse me. they're all frauds. >> tucker: john kirby is
5:17 pm
supposed to be an adult. >> ha-ha-ha. >> tucker: he should resign his job tonight. he should be ashamed of himself that he's a mouthpiece for this grotesque policy. i hope he has enough dignity and self-respect to resign. >> we need republicans, tucker, who are finally speaking the truth about this issue, are not beholding to the know. banks on the multilateral corporations that are continuing to fund this military regime and dictatorship in china. we see what they're doing and it is horrific. >> tucker: laura, good to see you tonight. john ratcliffe knows about what's happening in china. he was the director of national intelligence under the last administration. he has long warned, he's been one of the few voices in washington, to point out that china is the threat, the preeminent threat. john ratcliffe joins us tonight with his reaction to what is happening in that country tonight.
5:18 pm
mr. ratcliffe, thank you for coming on. it's hard to have perspective on this, including me, when you see these videos. how serious are these protests potentially do you think? >> well, we've never seen protests like this in over 30 years in china. it really will force the chinese government to change their governance model. ever since tiananmen square, the government has said we're not going to let that happen again. we'll engage in the largest massive surveillance state in the history of the world against our own citizens. if we get a whiff of discontent we're going to stamp it out. they've been successful in doing that. this is the first time in 33 years that we've now seen nationwide protests. it's not just a -- the problem or the challenge for xi jinping, it's moved from a one issue, covid issue, to a call for his removal and regime change. i don't think anyone knows how this will play out. it's very serious.
5:19 pm
very clearly the chinese communist party will have to adopt a different governance model going forward in light of what's going on there. >> tucker: i don't think a day has passed in the last two years where we haven't gotten a lecture about democracy from the biden administration. how can they not have a position on this given their commitment to democracy? >> the president's statement today was -- let's just be nice -- it was late, slow, weak, and cowardly. that's about the kindest i think thank you see. this is the same president who had an opportunity to confront the chinese president after three years, a million americans were killed by a virus that originated in china and he didn't do it. as disheartening as it is, it's not surprising. the silence from the left is deafening. i saw this type of intelligence on a daily basis about how brutal the chinese communist party could be.
5:20 pm
on the left, what we've seen is, you know, some are silent because of greed. that's your hollywood crowd. your wall street crowd. your nba. groups and organizations that want access to 1.4 billion chinese, and no matter what they do it's not enough to turn them away from that. the other, the group that's complicit, your washington politicians, blue state governorses, anthony faucis, who can't condemn the chinese communist party, because to do so would be to condemn themselves. they're the group that's praised and protected and defended, and in some cases emulated the same lockdown measures that the chinese communist party is engaged in right now. to condemn the chinese communist party would be to condemn themselves and to admit to the person people they've been lyine been lying for three years, they were wrong, and i don't think we'll see that. >> tucker: anyone who's awake at all can see what's going on here. they're playing with fire.
5:21 pm
you can't keep lying to this level, i would say. john, thank you. in one of the many intentional hhumiliations he's committed as president, joe biden hired a gender fluid activist to oversee our country's nuclear waste, someone interested in pup play. seems like a weird guy. turns outers. he was just charged with a serious crime. we'll tell you what the crime is next. plus, one mother is now paying big money to deprogram her family. from a cult? no. from a college. the successfully deprogrammed daughter of this wise mother joins us next.

5:29 pm
to undo the brainwash, and it worked. annabelle rockwell is the daughter, and joins us. thank you very much for coming on. deprogramming suggests undoing unreasonable religious belief. did you feel like a cult member after mount holyoke? >> i arrived bright-eyed and bushy tailed so excited to be there in 2011. as soon as i got there i was told that, you know, i was a first year, not a freshman, because we were at a historically women's college. i was told, he may be a she, she may be a he, don't assume anyone's gender. and there was a ritual of

5:38 pm
why shouldn't we know who is shutting down free speech in a country that claims to be a democracy? well, everybody in power is panicked over this. apple is threatening to remove twitter from its app store. if twitter can no longer get its app on the app store, there's no more twitter, because you access twitter through the app. so they're essentially threatening to shut down twitter. meanwhile the white house and the media are trying to convince you that the problem is not china throwing people into concentration camps, suppressing free speech, the problem is elon musk, trying to restore free speech. he's the evil one. watch. >> it's amazing to watch someone like elon musk who is such a -- he's such a child. you know, he's so immature. he needs attention all the time. a guy with attention and daddy issues. >> this libertarian nonsense is destructive to american national security. he's got to reinstitute the same restrictions that were on

5:42 pm
of money who would actually care to stop these people. hats off to the man so far. i'm thoroughly impressed. >> tucker: i am too. if he goes through with this, though, it sets a very bad precedent for the people in charge. it's like someone could come in and break the rules, think freely and say what he believes? that could be contagious. >> well, and i'm going to really irritate people and give someone credit that deserves credit for being the first domino, and it's really donald trump inspired this. he took on the establishment. the fake news industry. he upset the establishment, narrative and control, started calling it fake news. now what they're afraid of is trump, through the force of his personality and opinions shook up the establishment. it sounds like elon musk can wants to come with the actual receipts and justify everything that trump has said over the last five to six years, and they just don't want the receipts put on display for everyone to see.
