very lgbtq+ friendly. he claimed he was committed to justice and to fairness. but, instead of instilling calm, this guy's words tacitly green lit the violence that would end up occurring. as i said over the weekend, the pastor who spoke at the first rally, well, he had demanded an apology. >> bruce herrell, the mayor of seattle owes christians in washington state an apology vicious remarks after holding event were assaulted. police officers were hospitalized. church people were assaulted. and the mayor of seattle has the audacity to blame christians for the violence. nothing could be more demonic and untrue. >> laura: well, the fbi has announced that it's doing an investigation, thank goodness, go dan bongino. now, it's about time, isn't it, that these violent thugs feel

for kids, bikes. free prayer for people who needed it and also incorporated worship empty end of that outreach that's when we were swarmed by hundreds of antifa militants. i will only correct one thing in the reporting of your story. they weren't throwing water balloons. they were throwing water balloons filled with urine at christians who stood in the park who stood in the park and assaulted for the high crime of worshiping jesus in a public space. so that happened on saturday then the mayor followed it up an hour after that event ended. police officers were hospitalized good church people were injured. he followed that up with a press statement blaming the church for the violence saying we are advocating values that are anti-threatt call to seattle's values at that moment i decided.

supported by people like mayor bruce harrell, their voices are amplified by liberal news outlets like the seattle times and, in doing so, it creates a perfect storm that results in violence against people of faith, police officers, and others. and so, after the mayor put out a statement and blamed us for the violence, i said we are taking the rally to the front steps of city hall. that's exactly what we did on tuesday. and similar things happened. antifa was out in force. they bloodied and beat up good church people who stood in line to try get into a rally to sing hymns and worship songs and pray for the direction of the city. and the mayor put out a second statement, even worse than the first. and he said well, the only reason you are rallying at city hall is because you are opposed to the idea that i am biracial. i mean it's a clown show with these leftist agitator

supporting politicians who are so out of touch with, i think, a wide swath of their constituents. and i think mayor bruce harrell terminated his political career by releasing those statements. there was a show of force. thousands came out to city hall. >> laura: i scanned the crowds in the video that's got access to. it was a very diverse crowd. i don't understand the biracial comment at all because they seemed to be a lot of hispanic folks there. mr. there were african-american folks. white people, young and old. a lot of families. part of what the rally was about, i thought, was the concern about the transgender rising our youth, correct? wasn't that part of it? will included testimonies from people who have de-transitioned after succumbing to trans ideology. it was shared in the context of uplifting, hopeful, god can

change anything. jesus has the power to transform your life it wasn't this hateful rhetoric. it was people sharing hopeful optimistic outlook on what it looks like when god begins a work in your life. >> laura: are christians welcome in seattle in your view to publicly express their views the mayor put that in his statement. in the future is he going to deny religious groups the ability to pauper mitts to hold similar worship-themed events in public places. >> laura: he said -- he says look, i'm a christian first amendment rights need to be upheld. that's why you were able go to a park. dedicated in some way to the lgbtq cause and that kind of made them upset. but you got the permit to do it where did you it and it wasn't your first choice i know too

but going into the midterm elections of 2026, the democrats can still win it because rejection it s. more powerful than popularity. and president trump's popularity is decent right now. he has got a 48 job approval. a 50 disapproval. i want to point out 10 points higher than it was going into the midterm elections when he was first elected in 2018. so that's significant. but, i think that democrats' hatred for trump is stronger than republicans love for republicans. and midterm elections, especially without trump on the ballot are very to the party that power. the republican party. yeah, democrats are in the wilderness, they are unpopular. they are too liberal. that doesn't mean they can't win. >> laura: this is where in states like virginia and ohio. they are finding candidates who like on the surface might appear to be moderate with you when push comes to shove they are always going to vote with the radicals.

you think about elizabeth spanberger jon tester in montana always voted with the liberals. rarely did he ever oppose them. that's always the trappings of being a moderate. maybe you have a military background in some way like mayor pete did. but they are just a tried and true liberal. but that has worked for them in the past. but it doesn't solve their problem with male voters, ari, which they keep stumbling over. >> let me go to the biggest factors going to drive the politics of the future. one, what is the economy like in 2026. what republicans need is for the tariff wars to be over. for trump to win the tariff wars. to pass the tax cut to unify house senate. pass the tax cut and hope that does indeed lead to a booming economy. if the economy is weak or if they don't get it passed they are dead ducks, republicans in the house. if that happens and the economy is strong, then here's the other kicker, 115 million people voted in the 2022 midterm.

155 million voted in the 2024 presidential. trump voters don't show up in the midterms. the democrats who hate trump do show up. and that's the big problem republicans have. they are going to have to work on the turn out machine. excite people, and can they do it without donald trump on the ballot? donald trump is going to have to personally work real hard to deliver a lot of these votes for republicans to get trump voters out, especially in those marginal congressional races. >> laura: if he cares about his legacy he is going to have to do that. at some point they will have to figure this out when trump is deciding he is not going to do politics at all anymore. ari, thank you so much. all right. this is big nippon steel is closing in on a deal to acquire u.s. steel. but the white house, president trump, is touting it more like a partnership. >> it will be controlled by the united states, otherwise, i wouldn't make the deal. we will see what the final is. but they are going to invest billions of dollars in steel and

it's a good company. it's an investment and it's a partial ownership but it will be controlled by the u.s.a. >> laura: so who is really the boss here big decisions. in a japanese owned company takes over a u.s. company, how does the united states or the u.s. steel have control over what goes on here? how does that make sense? >> the control structure is going to be somewhat unique. it's a national security gleement that will be signed with the u.s. government. it will be a u.s. ceo. u.s. majority board and then there will be a golden chair which will essentially require u.s. government approval of a number of the board members. >> laura: it doesn't matter where the company is headquartered if the u.s. can select board members, does it? it matters who can make the final call. here to help us understand this pennsylvania congressman dan muser. of course, this is a big issue in his district. could create thousands and thousands of jobs. he met with president trump last week about this deal. congressman, you may have seen that i'm pretty concerned about

this deal. but, if nippon is acquiring u.s. steel for $14 billion, how is this a partnership and why would they do it? >> great being with you, laura. it is an investment. let's be very clear about that. the president, frankly, would not approved it if it wasn't strictly an investment, a strategic partnership, where it's american owned, american run, and remains in america. that's actually, i have met with the folks from nippon. that's the commitment they are making and it is a binding agreement. there is not -- this isn't just a handshake my any means u.s. steel in our communities and in ration of nearly 70,000 direct and indirect jobs. it's an investment in american steel. and i will tell you what, laura, the biggest national security concern should be if this deal

didn't happen because we need the steel manufactured here in pennsylvania and in the united states. >> laura: one of the things i keep hearing, this is documented not hearing. nippon is one of the most notorious trade sheets as is japan. president trump has talked about this in the past. 12 antidumping orders against japan, including some against nippon, other companies like it. so, is this -- people can say oh, is this rewarding years of bad trade behavior in a new deal that ultimately gives a foreign country a fight hold in critical manufacturing. what does it do to the other steel companies in the united states? they are, as you can imagine, very concerned about this deal. nippon has assets existing throughout the united states. this deal with impact minnesota, arkansas, kentucky, sneangsd, it's also going to be very

positive for pennsylvania coal. but, to your question, the president will have veto power. actually the department of treasury via the president over the board oversight over the company's operation. will nippon's reputation tremendous commitments to pittsburgh r and d center being jointly done with carnegie mellon university. >> laura: congressman, i don't blame you. you are doing what you should do for your district. i don't have any doubt about that. but president trump campaigned against a deal that would end up ultimately 51% control industry

like steel in the hands of a foreign entity. we don't see the terms of the deal. i'm a lawyer so i want to see the deal. i don't know why they are hiding the terms of the deal. i haven't seen the deal. have you actually seen the terms of the deal? >> no, but i have seen where sithous is on it and how those national security concerns can be mitigate and i also know that the president has reviewed it. as has, i believe, cot bessent, howard lutnick and others. but it is still being structured; laura. >> laura: congressman, i don't mean to be -- i'm not trying to be difficult. but it is still being structured but we have heard repeatedly that this is a partnership. on the u.s. steel website it says it's a good thing basically paraphrasing that we are being acquired by nippon are you saying they are not being acquired by nippon because that's what it says on the u.s. steel website. >> i'm saying strictly

investment like the other investments that the president's economy that he is creating are being made. it will be american-owned. it will be american run. the white house has investigative and oversight authority. and that is what we have -- the deal that we have. and i will tell you this. the president was against it initially until he reviewed it, until he made it better. until he came in and made it in with no national security concerns and a great investment for pennsylvania and keeping u.s. steel, american steel being manufactured here where strategically need that to happen. there was a period of time when we were buying foreign companies and critical manufacturing but now foreign countries and companies are buying -- you know, you know what i'm saying. i see what you are saying. and we need to see the terms of the deal. we have got to roll, congressman. we have got see the terms of this deal. i respect everybody's opinion but, you know, this is what i do. i want to see the terms. all right, congressman.

make the doge cuts permanent. the white house is expected do send a $9.4 billion package of spending cuts, called rescissions to congress next week. but that's just a drop in the budget, do too. here tamaswamy ohio gubernatorial candidate. vivek, is elon right? does the big, beautiful bill undermine what doge was all about. >> i think the doge cuts need to be made. as you pointed out, laura, that's $9 billion against the backdrop of a $36 trillion national debt on tap to become $60 trillion in 10 years with a $2 trillion deficit each year. it's like picking a barnacle off the back of a whale. we have got to deal with the actual issue at some point queer going to have to the have courage to take on independence from the federal entitlement state. that's what we actually need to be talking about. i personally believe that everything else ends up being a

distraction topic of real national debt issue. asked the question how we will start with a generation of americans who hopefully become so wealthy that they don't need the federal entitlement state that lyndon johnson created. at some point have to muster the courage to take that on. until we do that everything else is mostly a distraction. one of the things i'm looking to do in ohio set up a model for how we w wean ourself off the entitlement process. >> i'm always shocked when people are shocked that washington never wants to cut spending. i mean, have you not seen what they have done? $3.9 trillion added to the federal deficit in what some republicans hope, wishful thinking, perhaps, but maybe some of it is true, they hope there is going to be so much investment that that's going to override this concern about the deficit they are going to grow their way out of this deficit and interest rate debt bomb

problem. but to me that seems like very wishful thinking. >> financial markets certainly believe that treasury rates continue to push upwards. we are paying more on interest payments now than the entire u.s. military budget. the defense budget is smaller than the interest payments on our national debt. at the time, laura, i don't think it's too late. time to i can with a up and ask the question at some point the kid born in this country next year when we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the declaration of the independence in 2026 that, kid will grow up in the country where that debt is on their shoulders. they won't have money for social security and medicare because we will have run out for that bone by then. how do we create that generation so financially successful that they declare independence from the federal nanny state. that's the declaration of independence we really need. next year is the 250th anniversary. no better time than now to create that modern declaration of independence which is gnel
