4:01 pm
breaking news, live on the ground in israel where the two countries are fighting as we speak. senior affairs correspondent greg palkot in tel aviv with the latest. greg? >> hi, kayleigh, yes, it was a day of fire and fury here in israel as iran after taking a lot of beating in the past seven days at least got a little bit of that back today. we were eyewitnesses early thursday morning to the onso the onslaught of 30 iranian ballistic missiles shot at israel. 6 or 7 got through. making an urban mess of an area that contains tel aviv's stock exchange. further down the israeli coast in hollen, high rise residential towers were turned into shooting gallery for the projectiles. it was feared some residents had been caught in the rubble. and hardest hit, the soroka medical center. it's the biggest hospital in southern israel.
4:02 pm
the hospital building was extensively damaged, remarkably though all of its wards had been cleared prior to the attack. iran claimed there was an israeli military installation nearby, israel flatly rejected that. as prime minister netanyahu toured the rubble, israeli officials claim that some of the iranian missiles contain cluster bombs, which spread the danger, banned in some quarters, contributed to the 240 overall injured. netanyahu called the iranians war tyrants. the prime minister also called for revenge, the idf already on that mission continuing today to pound iran's nuclear and military infrastructure, including a water-cooled nuclear plant, not currently in use, israeli military intends to keep it that way. kayleigh, as for the task of getting rid of all of iran's nuclear program, it's nuclear

4:04 pm
weeks to complete the production of that weapon, which would, of course, pose an existential threat not just to israel but to the united states and to the entire world. >> kayleigh: mark dubowitz, chief executive of the foundation for defense democracy joins me now. mark, i'm very curious about what is going on here. you know, you have karoline leavitt saying two weeks, within two weeks so theoretically that could mean we still strike fordow tomorrow. at the same time president trump has always been lost to broadcast things ahead of time. i think there could be strategy here. what do you think is going on with the broadcasting of the two weeks' timeline? >> yeah, kayleigh, i agree with you i think the president last week ran one of the greatest deception operations since operation overlord when the fooled thinking we weren't going to invade at normandy i did. the israelis found the irgc commander and top personnel literally and figurativefully
4:05 pm
their bed last thursday night. they like to keep the enemy off balance. offering negative united states, he has been offering that for weeks and the iranians have been rejecting that and multiple u.s. offers. so he could be opening the path for oman where negotiations are set to take place and opening the path fordow where bombers could drop penetrators. >> kayleigh: there is two options there let's go to the second one you said about the negotiations. you know, i'm reading politico this morning. and i read something that made me very uncomfortable. and it was this. there was a headline meanwhile in europe. they talk about germany, france, and britain leading these negotiations with iran very uncomfortable with the idea of europe negotiating the way forward. very much comfortable with the idea of president trump doing so. in your opinion, what would an acceptable negotiation or end agreement look like because, in my mind, nothing short of americans watching fordow being dismantled would be sufficient.
4:06 pm
>> that's exactly right. i will use president trump's own words from two months ago, he said to the iranians you can either blow off your facilities under u.s. supervision or someone is going to blow it up for you. the president has been consistent and clear for a long time. iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. and they cannot have the key capabilities to develop a nuclear weapon. their program must be fully and permanently dismantled. they can have no enrichment capability or that president obama gave them and joe biden gave them. and the president has an historic opportunity. his predecessors couldn't do it. his successors may not do it. but the president knows he has to fully dismantle this program to stop a nuclear weapon. >> kayleigh: i was reading through some notes that you sent. i corresponded them with some reporting i had read yesterday from the "wall street journal." i want you to listen to this line here, israel has a plan for fordow and the ability to carry it out on its own, a senior israeli military official said without elaborating.
4:07 pm
so they are intimating israel might have a way to dismantle fordow. you told our producers israel caan destroy it permanently. so do you believ accomplish? >> the israelis are full of surprises. i used to say with respect to israeli military capability, those who know don't say and those who say don't know. i think that's been born out by the past year. incredibly israeli and military surprises. the israelis may have a surprise up their sleeve for fordow and for the supreme leader. it's certainly the united states we have b 2 bombers. we have 30,000-pound penetrators with one plane, one bomb and one site. we could permanently set back that program. the israelis will roll it back. but only we can really end it for good. >> kayleigh: yeah, you mentioned those surprises and trey yingst was told by some of the israeli officials, high ranking ones that they do have surprises up their sleeve.
4:08 pm
so i have no doubt it was as you reminded us just last thursday when they took out the irgc. really impressive. thank you very much, mark. >> thanks, kayleigh. >> kayleigh: at the end these two weeks president trump decides we need to strike iran, what exactly would that look like? you just heard about the bunker boss. you just heard about a strike. there is more that could be done. and for that we bring in jim hanson chief editor for the middle east forum and u.s. army special forces veteran. jim, i want to start here. this is a democratic congressman on the intelligence committee. here's what he said about the efficacy of bunker bombs. >> not only would it illustrate military strike potentially be ineffective. remember the bunker busting weapons though very potent may not be able to destroy the fordow nuclear facility. and there might be duplicative facilities throughout the country and you can't bomb their know how out of existence.
4:09 pm
they might reconstitute the program. >> kayleigh: so white house official told fox news, jim, this. that they have no doubt about the efficacy of bunker busters that massive ordnance penetrator. do you have doubts or do you think it can get the job done? >> no one should have any doubts if president trump makes the to destroy the at fordow it will turn into nuclear dust. so, whether it takes multiple massive ordnance penetrators, whether it takes actually, you know, getting people on the ground and digs the stuff out of there, whatever it requires, we're prepared to do and capable of doing. so i don't think that congressman is doing anything other than stirring the pot. >> kayleigh: yeah, the commander-in-chief, as you said, if he makes the choice, he's going to know that it's going to work. another interesting line that was told to our fox news team here was that nothing has been taken off the table and that would include tactical nukes.
4:10 pm
can you explain what the difference is between a tactical nuke option and this bunker buster massive ordnance penetrator? what would those operations look like and in your mind what's the better choice? >> i don't think there is any question that conventional munitions far exceed any kind of nuclear action. i don't believe the u.s. would be the first ones to use a nuclear weapon. so i think that's one of those situations where the rhetoric is being used to kind of put the fear of god into the iranians. and i think president trump right now is doing a very smart thing. you know, he stated that he wants a negotiated settlement to this. he wants the iranians to recognize that we can destroy them, even as the israelis are doing it more slowly. but he wants to go ahead and have them surrender and do this the right way. he realizes he can always bomb their nuclear facilities, can he never unbomb them. so i think a lot of this right now is designed to remind them of that fact and get them to
4:11 pm
accept the inevitable. they're done. >> and have you served, so you understand the personal cost to this sacrifice, the human cost of war. no one wants to see endless war, and there has been some talk about, you know, no regime change, but, yes precision strike on fordow. and i want to hear from you about how you disentangle the two. we obviously saw the perils of regime change with saddam hussein. we saw what happened in afghanistan and taliban. is there a way to disentangle those in your mind? >> president trump is not going to be the architect of another attempt at are a jail-time change. regime change, undoingof iran's. those two things are not entangled. they don't have to be. there are people rhetorically edge tangling them. there is a huge difference between destroying a nuclear facility and then trying to get the people who built it to see reality and sending troops on the ground and trying to build a
