At the time and still today one of the best guides ever...
Casey Loe nailed it perfectly in his opening statement about writing a RPG guide and why we love and hate them. A spoiler just kills the fun, hand holding just wastes our time, but a guide, that well.... acts like a guide - and walks with you through an adventure, pointing out interesting things we might miss, holding a light when we get lost, and asking, "isn't this incredible?". That is what the best written guides are.
I must have read this guide, many many times through the great rpg FF7. Sadly, though I was spoiled. Not by this guide but by the official white cover strategy guide that had a large picture of its main heroine meeting her end. Laid out bare with out care or thought to the reader. It was showed to me by a friend... now an enemy... just before I had gotten to that point.
If you get a chance to play FF7, take this companion along with you, it is an amazing read and book. Thank you very much.
