bruce, 72-year-old karen jacobs was taken to mercy medical initially, but the hospital tells us she was transferred. we were able to get any kind of a condition report. neighbors here called it a sad day. the damage from outside the mobile home did not look as bad as what firefighters apparently found inside. one battalion chief called the structure firefighters found when they arrived. " smoke and some fire showing not as kind of fire to the degree where exposures where an issue meaning the trailers to the left on the right. " neighbors say both of the jacobs had health issues and firefighters found oxygen bottles inside the mobile home. investigagars weren't sure if those issues played a role in how the fire started or may have prevented either one from getting out to escape the flames. one neighbor, who has lived here for much of his life, thought the couple may

grade level are scheduled to participate in a summer reading program pilot study. today, iowa governor terry branstad announced the state has one point nine million dollats to cover the cost of the study. beginnnng in 2017, iowa s sool districts will be required to provide summer reading programs to students who are still struggling to read at the end of third grade. the pilot study will happen this summer, and will inform next t mmer's ading program. "this is a pilot. a study program, that with a cohort, a group of school districts across the state, that will be able to kind of test run high quality reading programs that school districts will then be able to implement in the summer of 2017." branstad said private gifts covered one point three million dollars needed to implement the study. the rest of the money came from the iowa department of education and the iowa board of regents. participating school districts in eastern iowa include cedar rapids, marion, central community,

aplington- parkersburg. the iowa democratic party says human error caused five precincts to report incorrect caucus results two weeks ago. hillary clinton is still the winner of the caucuses, but the party is shifting its allocation of county convention delegates a bit. "we looked into these issues that were brought up just to make sure we had it accurate. nearly 1,700 precincts and " of the five counties that incorrectly awarded delegatete nearly all of the mistakes canceled each other out. taken altogether, the incorrect reporting gave bernie sanders one more county delegate. and martin o'mally also didn't get a delegate he was entitled to. the party fixed those mistakes. a federal appeals court judge who once worked in cedar rapids could make president obama's short list of potential supreme court nominees. justice antonin scalia died suddenly on saturday from

his death set off a debate about whether obama should nominate someone to fill the seat in an election year. some senate leaders say the next president should nominate someone when he or she comes into office in january. president obama says he does plan to nominate a replacement. the senate then must approve that nominee. and that's why y dge jane kelly s on a short list of nominees. kelly was an assistant u-s attorney in cedar rapids until president obama appointed her to the 8th u-s circuit court of appeals. the senate unanimously confirmed her nomination in 2013. iowa senator chuck grassley accelerated her nomination. grassley is now the chairman of the senate judiciary committee. kcrg-tv nine's forrest saunders joins me now. forrest, does grassley's past support of kelly make her a strong potential nominee? that's a good question, but hard to answer. grassley has started towing the party linin sayyg the president should wait for his successor to nominate candidates.

jobs to dubuque. r-i-e coatings plans to open a new facility in the dubuque industrial district. space will serve customers in iowa, illinois and indiana. the dubuque development corporation says companies like r-i-e are exactly the kind it's trying to bring to the area. "what it means is eventually it's going to be their showcase facility, this is where they are going to be bringing their costumers. so, it's access to indiana, but also they provide services that are existing in industriess that are utilized so that's important for the city of dubuque, the industry, and the community.
