authorities say there is no lonr a threat to the public. the south carolina primary is over, and voters there have chosen donald trump for the g-o-p nomination... vote, a soaring victory over his opponents... narrowly came in second place with 22 point 5 percent over texasenator ted cruz. momentum shifted to rubio throughout the night. trump was quick to congratulate him and cruz during his victory speech. "i want to also congratulate the other candidates. in particular, i have to say y d and marco did a really good job. they did quite well as i understand it. " last night didn't play out well for former florida governor jeb bush. he came in fourth and made the call to drop out of the race for president.

52 point 7 percent of the vote. sanders pulled in 47 point 2 percent. clinton celebrated her win with supporters in las vegas. tonight marked a rebound for the former secretary of state after a double-digit loss to sanders in the new hampshire primary last week. " i am so, so thrilled and so grateful to all of my supporters out there. some may have doubted us but we never doubted each other. " despite a virtual tie in iowa and a loss in nevada, sanders will try to keep momentum from his new hampshire into summer. "i believe whenemocrats assemble in philadelphia in july at the convention we are going to see the results of one of the great political upsets in the history of the united states. a lawsuit may soon involve the iowa utilities board, if an iowa landowner group decides to sue over a proposed oil pipeline. the company dota access wants to build the bakken oil pipeline from north dakota to illinois. that crude oil line would cross through 18 counties in iowa. the northwest iowa landowner association argues the utilities board does not have the authority to grant eminent domain permission across the state. the government could use the law to grab privately-owned land for the proposed route. the board could decide on the project as soon as next month. officials in illinois, south dakota, and north dakota have already approved construction of the pipeline in their states. the state of iowa plans to help keepep6-hundred jobs in central iowa, by signing off on a 17 million dollar incentive package between two chemical giants.

move comes after iowa lost a bid to secure the new headquarters for the merger of dupont and dow chemical. the new company will be based in delaware. the incentive packagegeill keep jobs that are part of dupont pioneer in johnston. dupont and dow are expected to wrap up their 130-billion dollar merger later this year. profits keep falling for john deere. first quarter numbers for fiscal year 20-16 show deere and company's net income for the quarter ending january 31st, was 254 point 4 million dollars. that's down from 386 point 8 million dollars during the same time period in fiscal year 20-15. deere expects equipment sales to stay on a downward trend this fiscal year. in a release yesterday, the company said sales are projected to fall about 10 percent. that's up from an earlier estimate of a 7 percent drop. finding the facts...

state senator robb hogg will challenge senator charles grassley this november. both spoke out on the impending the supreme court nomination process. in a statement, senator grassley called it standard practice over the past 80 years not to nominate or confirm a supreme court justice in an election year. actually, we found at least one supreme court nomination and confirmation made during an election year - justice frank murphy in 1940. justice anthony kennedy was confirmed in1988 but nominated in 1987. the bigger issue is supreme court justices haven't left the bench in an election year. one scholar called it disingenuous for senator grassley to call it standard practice to wait for the next president. that's why we give grassley's statement a d on the same issue, state senator rob hogg urged president obama to make the appointment and claimed a supreme court vacancy from a death hasever lasted ore than 6 months. the longest

a random shooting spree in kalamazoo, michigan. it happened around midnight this morning. cnn previously reported 7 people including a 14-year-old girl were killed. but local officials are now reporting she is gravely injured. police say a 45-year-old man opened fire at three different locations. a cracker barrel and an apartment complex. authoritits and witnessss are trying g piece together why this happened. community" police have the unidentified man in custody. officials say they found him in downtown kalamazoo with weapons in his vehicle. authorities say there is no longer a threat to the public. primary voters in south carolina have picked donald trump as their choice for the republican nomination. trump lead the other candidates with 32 poi 5 percent of the vote. narrowly coming in second place was marco rubio with 22 point 5 percent. at the end of the night, cruz was right behind h h with 22 point 3 percent. but perhaps the biggest surprise of the night is with 4th place winner jeb bush, who announced he was dropping out of the race. " south carolina is the next democratic primary on february 27th. family, friends, and long-time colleagues said their goodbyes to supreme court justice antonin scalia. yesterday, 3 thousand mourners attended his funeral in washington d-c. the catholic mass ended two days of mourning for scalia, who was appointed to the supreme court in 1986. he died in his sleep at a ranch in texas last saturday. president obama and first lady michelle obama did not attend the funeral, but were among the thousands paying their respects at the supreme court yesterday. scalia's son paul, a catholic priest, led the morning's service.
