struggling financially but the state judicial council which sets policy for court state wide doesn't seem to be sharing the pain. l we have learned it is ready to give pay i hope cresss to hundreds of its workers at the same time other state employee face furlough and serious cut back. here's vick lee. >>reporter: the pay increase would say good to most of the judicial council staff called the a o c. short forth administrative office of the courts. it's a huge bureaucracy that has grown to more than 800 workers. the recommendation is from a council oversight committee chaired by chief justice if here that calls for 3.5 percent increase for an estimated 80 percent of a o c workers. this when employee of the state 58 local county courts have suffered through layoffs and furloughs from court closures. >> we are angry. we are just angry. >>reporter: deborah pierson is annual immediate county

inmate monday at the contra costa county jail died today after being taken off life support. police say 55-year-old cynthia palmer attacked by inmate who faked a seizure then for no apparent reason at all hit her in the whaed a desk lamp. suspect aaron had no history of violence but now is being charged with murder. dmv is investigating whether one of the employees used personal information to harass transgender woman. amber weapon to the dmv san francisco branch last week to change the name on her driver's license. few days lateary letter arrive at her home claiming to be from the dmv clerk who helped her. the writer says being transgender is ivl. >> understandably i think she was scared to get a letter sent to her home from state employee who presumably found out her address through his official capacity as state employee. and it was incredibly harassing and traumatizing experience for her.
