bay area for the afternoon and the evening commute. that's the first. there are two more storms behind this. i will be back with the details in a few minutes. >> thank you, sabd yaw ?ie. deputies from mare raw county came to serve a search warrant on google. they wanted to know who posted this picture on a website hosted by google. it is of the sheriff with the words "wanted, dead or alive." they say that is a threat against the sheriff's life. the sheriff respects the right of free speech, but he says the line is crossed when a person threatens an act of violence. someone posted a different threat against him and his family a few weeks ago. tonight san francisco police hope a $100 thowd reward will be enough to help solve a cold case murder. 83-year-old juan chen was beaten in the bay view district. he died from his injuries several weeks later. ama dates has a new effort to break the case. >> police think it is teenagers who attacked the

elderly man two years ago as he was walking home. but they don't know how many there were or why they would do such a thing. they hope a reminder and reward will bring the answers they need. >> basically have i nothing. >> san francisco police have no leads in the fatal beating of 83-year-old bay view resident juan chen. he was killed almost two years ago. >> he was walking home getting off muni and walking toward his home when he was approached and attacked by unknown youth. >> this is the area where it happened near third street. >> mr. chen fell to the ground and hit his head and sustained serious enough injuries where he eventually a few days later went to the hospital and succumbed to those injuries approximately a month and a half later. >> an older gentleman like this, you are supposed to be enjoying your older years and not wondering if you will make it from one block to the next. >> with no surveillance of the

needs to be closed and the community may be their only hope. abc7 news. >> thank you, ama. well, police say a failed burglary attempt in the east bay lead to a deadly car crash in newark. three 20-year-old men are in custody after the car they were riding in slammed into a honda and killing that driver. the suspect's car flipped and went airborne a hundred yards after colliding with the victim's car. police responding to a 9-1-1 call about burglary and saw the suspect's car and gave chase, but broke off the pursuit because of unsafe speeds. witnesses say the impact of the crash sounded like an explosion. the san francisco chronicle is reporting that a muni bus driver involved in a fatal accident has been charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter. emily dunn was killed last august when she was hit by a bus while crossing a castro district street. prosecutors say the driver was negligent for failing to see her. and in a rare move, the 36-year-old was arrested on

saturday and released on $10,000 bail. 2500 oakland employees, more than half of the workforce have received layoff notices when they showed up for work. it is to close the state's redevelopment agencies costing oakland $26 million in state funds. when the numbers are returned, only 200 city employees will lose their jobs. police, firefighters, 9-1-1 dispatchers and the human resources employees are exempt. governor brown called for new taxes during today's state of the state address saying it is an investment in the future. the speech served as a launching pad for his november ballot initiative which will boost sales taxes and income taxes on people who make more than a quarter million dollars a year. and he cautioned against future borrowing to pay california's bills. >> it is said the road to hell is paved with good intentions and digging ourselves into a deep financial hole to do good

we are looking at mostly cloudy conditions tonight. not as cold because of the cloud cover. a wet pattern begins tomorrow and snow arrives in the sierra nevada. the statewide snowpack, 10% of normal right now. it is extremely low. that's going to change. we have storm number one tomorrow. stronger storm on friday, and then the last coming in, the third one sunday night. let me show you our computer animation and show you what will happen as we head toward tomorrow morning. 5:00 a.m. we start to see some very light showers and beginning to approach the sonoma county area. very light. not all of the commute will be wet. you will see what will happen. this is slow to move southward. at noontime the rain is in the north bay. finally as we head into the afternoon hours, we will start to see the wet weather shifting during the evening commute. we will have some moderate pockets of rain across the heart of the bay area. it is indicated here in the yellow. showers behind that front, the scattered showers are really tapering on friday morning.

more rain arrives with the second storm. this is the stronger one that will bring in heavy rain here on friday evening. if you are getting away for the weekend, or if you are just traveling, commuting, it is going to be rough out there for your friday evening. really even into 7:00, 8:00. it shifts into the south bay and the east bay. watch out for the heavy rain. showers for your saturday early on in the day. and we start to see it tapering off briefly before the third system arrives sunday night. rainfall totals at least through saturday plorng. up to 4 inches in the north bay mountains and an inch and a half to 3 inches. one to two inches east bay. santa cruz could get up to three inches. in the south bay, three quarters of an inch to an inch and a half. we are running very dry, about 22 to 29% of normal. this rainfall is beneficial for the bay area. it will certainly help with our deficit here. in the sierra nevada, 10:00 a.m. thursday until 4:00 a.m. on saturday. snow expected above 5,000. if you are traveling there we
