downhill. westbound 580 tracy to dublin is an hour and eight minutes. everyone else is filling in westbound 4 antioch to concord is 31 minutes and san rafael to san francisco is in the yellow at 19 minutes. more detail on the crash at 6:08. >> topping our news, a precarious situation in sonoma. a wildfire is burning near cloverdale right now force evacuations and fire crews are facing challenges and our reporter is near the fire line. >> i got good news, and they doubled their containment overnight and they are say the fire is 20% contained. up from 10%. they are keeping the number of acres that have burned the same at 1,500. they are calling the sawmill fire with 36 home evacuated. we asked if they knew when the
people could go home. >> i have not heard when we can let them back in. it is a priority. in are no evacuees at the evacuation center. i assume everybody has found another place to go. right now, the road is busy. we have a lot of fire traffic. we will know month today. >> no one is hurt in the fire they do not know what started it they hope to get the upper hand and are worried about the heat. so they do not want to let their gard down. in cloverdale for abc7 news. >> we want to get back to jessica at the live desk tracking breaking news from houston with an active shooter situation this morning. >> breaking news is police have reportedly killed the shooter in houston, texas, according to our affiliate after oning fire at a
strip mall. it started a petco. the police chief just spoke to media and is only saying that the shooter has been neutralized. not committing to saying the person is dead. the shooter has injured at least now we hear eight victims in the shooting. again, we heard this began at a petco store but our affiliate is reporting that some of the shooting happened at an apartment complex in the area. at the love the victims in the case were in their vehicles. a lot of people are saying the bullets came toward their car flying everywhere in the area. this is a strip mall there. this is an urgent care. you are seeing the images but i want to show you the video from this morning that the huge emergency response. the shooter has been describe as a black male reportedly holding a revolver. we heard that a lot people were
hurt in their cars. there is no word on the extent of the injuries to the victims, how bad the injuries could be. it is an active situation the we her moments ago that bomb squad was called to the john and there was a suspicious vehicle so, still, very active and we are still getting new information at the live desk and i will keep monitoring all of the information as the situation changes. that is the latest here. >> the political world will be focused on new york tonight for the first of three presidential debates. both donald trump and hillary clinton have a lot at stake and so does the moderator. mod rares have been under fire for not fact checking statements. it is not really his or her job. >> i don't think it is a good idea to give the moderator into essentially servinging a the

>> a man is alive this morning after the coast guard gave up searching for him and his mother in the atlantic ocean. can you see on a map where a cargo ship found 22-year-old nathan carmen 100 miles south of martha's vineyard on a life raft after eight days at sea after he and his mother failed to return from a fishing trip. the coast guard suspended the

police. not say whether the suspect is dead but they have said the person is "neutralized," and not taken to the hospitals. he is in longer a threat. the bomb squad is there. i have better news as far as victims are concerned been seeing a lot of images of broken windows in cars at the strip mall parking lot. the shooter report through started at petco store and made his way to the apartment complex that is being asked to shelter-in-place and it started at 6:30 in houston when people were leaving for work or just getting up. police have not given out an identity of the shooter, of course, and i will keep you updated as we get new details through the newscast.
