exception. good evening. thank you for joining us. i'm dan ashley dates we have team coverage tonight, beginning with meteorologist sandia patel and a red flag warning. sandia yeah, that red flag warning. dan anoma is for solano county until 11 a.m. wednesday and there's good reason hot, dry, gusty conditions. obviously not the combination. we want to see. humidity will be coming down 4 to 15% gus could be up to 35 miles an hour, so any fires that develop will quickly spread that same area under a heat advisory starting at noon tomorrow, running until 11 p.m. wednesday as temperatures soar. heat illnesses are possible and we look at those numbers there in the comfort zone at eight a.m. by noon, getting up into the eighties and nineties inland, well inland, approaching 100 degrees by two o'clock, and that's not where they'll end up. i'll be back with the look at the hot weather for inland areas and how long it's going to last when i come back, alright, thank you, sandy and continuing our team coverage. now is abc seven news reporter cornell bernard.

from one country. cal fire choppers armed with water mounted an air assault on this wildfire off silverado trail and seen alina. it started about 5 30, prompting evacuations door and tell me what's up. what's a fire? christian torres and his family left their home as a precaution and it's not the first time you remember like last year a few years ago. and it's really it's hard to see this again guys. it's kind of family here. fire crews were able to stop the fire before it reached the top of the hill where a home was threatened structure was not damaged and the crews made a strong effort getting up on top there to not only protect it, but then get containment to keep this fire, you know, roughly around five acres in the east base guys, seven was over this fire in dublin, alameda and contra costa county firefighters contain the fire near highland and collier. canyon roads to 91 acres firefighters say hot dry

with parents of young students if you suspect your child, may be using they probably are and please do not deny that that's a possibility illegal fentanyl is sometimes pressed into pills made to look like prescription drugs or can be mixed into other illicit drugs the county described by officials as a distribution hotspot has marked horizon fennel overdose deaths since 2015 when nine people died in 2021 that number spite to 135 42 out of 135 that got poisoned by fentanyl and under age of 29 taking part in the panel a parent who lost a teen this way now focused on putting their energy into educating others doesn't matter how great apparent you were. it finds its way in every community as it did into ours monday's discussion meant to provide parents with resources to recognize and respond.

and dr. patel's wife also got infected. he says he has been sick for about three days, but thankfully is feeling better and they are all on the mend. that is good to hear. well, california gas prices are at their highest level we've ever seen you've noticed this probably and the bay area some stations are selling gas for more than $7 a gallon abc 7 news reporter jr. stone spoke with an expert about when we might see some relief. $7.25 a gallon at this gas station in menlo park is certainly not normal. it's insane. i've never seen prices this high before countywide regular unleaded is going for $6.29 a gallon in san mateo county. statewide, california is up nearly two dollars a gallon in the last year according to triple a. well that is high they are still in terms of hours worked in order to afford a gallon. gasoline not as high as they were 10 or 15 years ago uc

berkeley professor. severin. bornstein says people weren't making as much money back. then bornstein says there are a number of factors contributing to our record cost at the pump as supply lags behind demand saying that currently the us is a million barrels a day behind what we produce pre-pandemic now the decline in us production is being driven largely by apply chain problems and labor. they're having a hard time getting oil workers to come. back to the fields while a huge drop in prices is unlikely. bornstein believes there will be an eventual decline. yeah month six months or a year from now. it looks like we're gonna see a downward trend. i think we'll we'll actually start to see a drift down. pretty soon but it's not going to be a big. left we're probably going to see dimes not quarters or half dollars coming off the price and while some will continue to try to find the cheapest stations

kiyoko: make a better california... in the search for a woman wanted for killing a professional cyclist from san francisco investigators. say mariah wilson met up with the woman's boyfriend in austin, texas. on the evening of may 11th, the two went swimming together and had dinner before he dropped her off at a friend's home. later. the evening the friend found her shot and bleeding in the bathroom. the suspect is identified as caitlin armstrong. her jeep was seen passing by the home the night of the killing and now investigators think armstrong might have fled the country. he know she was going to be wanted for this. she probably had a five-day head start.

armstrong has been charged with wilson's murder her boyfriend did tell police he had a brief relationship with wilson in the fall. the list of participants marching in the upcoming san francisco pride parade just got shorter that's due to a decision by organizers to ban first responders from walking in uniform mayor london breed said today. she made the hard decision to skip the parade in order to support members of the lgbtq+ community who serve as officers and deputies a 2019 incident led to the ban after protesters delayed the parade and became defiant police made a number of arrests, but supervisor matt dorsey who is openly gay. police department he wants worked for is a model of police reform. these are people who don uniforms and risk their lives. who come from a community that is often marginalized and they're leading change from within i'd like to celebrate that for pride. members of the fire department are allowed to march in uniform. but today announced they will also boycott the parade has a show of solidarity with police.

even with an emergency supply of baby formula landed in the us now this week a many families are still struggling to feed their children as abc 7 news. anchor liz croyd's reports one mother in santa rosa is so desperate to find a specific formula. she turned to help on facebook where she then fell victim to a scam. this is how keely aguilar now spends her mornings and nights. mixing up some of the few cans of formula. she still has left before going on her phone computer social media doing anything. she can to find the specific baby formula her 11 year old daughter natalia needs to survive. natalia is on a medical grade formula. that means that it is be a prescription. natalia has a rare medical condition called brainbridge roper syndrome that affects all aspects. her cognitive and developmental abilities. she cannot eat food or even process many of the common baby formulas found at grocery stores. that's why keeley has turned to facebook and instagram hoping

others might be able to help. i was hoping that people would have excess supply that they'd be willing to send me and that's kind of where the scammers came into play. yes, a mid distress of trying to keep her daughter alive. keely says she fell victim to a scam this week. she sent 250 dollars to a woman on facebook who had reached out offering sell her formula i thought i was doing my due diligence and asking a lot of questions. i asked for pictures. i asked for expiration dates on the cans. she had all the right answers and so i sent money and then her profile on facebook disappeared keely says she has had friends and strangers who have genuinely stepped up to help but she believes more than one person has contacted her trying a similar scam. it's shocking that people would prey on this. segment of our population the scam just one more setback for keeley who has already spent thousands of dollars out of pocket to purchase formula that's usually covered by her insurance. she says even with the new emergency shipment of formula that's landing in the us this

week. she feels lost and in limbo. it's been an absolute nightmare until these formulas are back in stock at our supply company and we can receive regular shipments again. we're going to be going through this and the specific babies formulas that talia needs are called neocate junior or pure amino junior. it's unclear if those are on the emergency shipment landing this week. ultimately keeley says the long-term solution is to reopen that baby formula plant in santa rosa is croix abc 7 news. in the north bay dreams went on display during an art exhibit tonight featuring the work of middle school students in napa. we first met this group of students last week as they took part in a special workshop pictures of hope uses the power of geography to help students realize their potential and share their hope and dreams. it's led by a claimed photojournalist linda solomon. one photo can change a life, but you just got to give that child a chance. my degree was for everyone to be
