oakland lgbtq plus community center held the grand opening of its east oakland satellite site this afternoon. mayor barbara lee took part in a ribbon cutting ceremony held at the city of refuge on enterprise way. the site includes a new health care clinic and a trans wellness center. officials say the oakland lgbtq community center is fighting for its survival as it faces federal cuts and a drastic drop in individual donors. we're now about three weeks away from the san francisco pride parade celebration, and abc seven is the exclusive broadcast partner. you can watch it live on sunday, june 29th, right here and everywhere you stream abc seven news. happening now the cdc is warning of a salmonella outbreak linked to eggs, and it's already sickened dozens of people here in california. august egg company has recalled 1.7 million dozen brown, cage free and brown certified organic eggs. they

were sold under multiple brand names and were sold to retailers in california and eight other states. the stores include smart and final, lucky, safeway, ralphs, and walmart. they have sell by dates from march 4th to june 4th and 19th. so far, 79 people have gotten sick. 63 of those are in california, 21 people have been hospitalized. no deaths have been reported. today, the city of santa cruz and the coast guard began removing heavy equipment and debris t fell into the ocean after last t december's partial collapse of the municipal wharf. officials say the operation has been delayed until now due to the need for calm sea conditions. during the removal process, the debris removal operations are expected to be completed tomorrow. the wharf and its businesses will stay open this weekend, but the city is asking for people to stay clear of the work zone. >> i do think it's a little weird that they didn't clean it up earlier. i mean, with all the

stuff that's still in the oceane from the collapse, that's completely dangerous for sea life, for boaters like all those people. >> city officials hope to start construction on the restoring of the wharf in october and finish that work by early next year. in developing news now, protesters and federal agents clashed for a second day in los angeles after a raid was conducted by immigration and customs enforcement. we're learning that several people have been arrested. abc news reporter alex stone has more from los angeles. >> clashes for a second day today in los angeles as people protested immigration arrests in the city. >> we see you for what you are a terrorist organization. >> today, immigration officers facing protests in paramount, chaotic protests unfolding in los angeles on friday after federal immigration agents raided seven businesses across the city. >> our friends, neighbors and family are being kidnaped. our kids are scared. this is the

time when we show up for them, for each other. >> the department of homeland security saying it executed four federal search warrants across three locations. at least 44 people were arrested in friday's raids. community members and lawmakers coming together today to speak out against the raids. >> but what happened here in los angeles yesterday is not unique to los angeles. what happened here yesterday is happening across communities in the united states. >> a tense scene outside of a clothing warehouse is a crowd tried to block agents from driving away. during one of the raids, some protesters were seen throwing objects at the vehicles. acting ice director todd lyons today criticizing la's mayor and the lapd for its slow response, saying ice agents were vastly outnumbered by the protesters. the mayor saying neither she nor the lapd had any idea the raids were going to happen. >> ice went in, they just took people away. and we just can't have this in our city. and it happened multiple places in the city. and what it does is, is

that it sows a sense of terror throughout the community. >> those raids prompting demonstrators to gather outside of a federal building in la, where lawyers said those detained had been taken. lapd officers in riot gear, standing shoulder to shoulder, blocking the entrance to the building, some tossing tear gas canisters to try to disperse the crowds. the department of homeland security standing by the immigration raids in a statement saying, quote, ice is now following the law and placing these illegal aliens in expedited removal as they always should have been. alex stone, abc news, los angeles. >> russia is intensifying its attacks against ukraine. at least seven people were killed and 41 others hurt as russia unleashed a barrage of drones and missiles today. explosions erupted in neighborhoods across ukraine, including the capital city of kyiv. the ukrainian air force says russia launched a total of 215 drones and missiles. it says 174 were

weekend of service and celebration for oakland mayor barbara lee's community inauguration. today, city council members and community leaders hosted a day of service in neighborhoods all around oakland. we caught up with the mayor, wilma chan park in chinatown. >> i just want to thank you very much, because i was determined during my campaign to talk about why i wanted to see oakland as the cleanest, safest, and greenest city in our state and in our country. and so you're doing this. tomorrow, a community inauguration celebration will be held at the ferry lawn in jack london square from 3 to 5 p.m. there will be musical guests, performances and speeches from civic leaders, including mayor lee. part of building a better bay area is making sure people can afford to live here. this morning, the berkeley unified school district held a groundbreaking ceremony for a project to build affordable housing units for teachers and staff. the workforce housing complex will

include 110 rental apartments, a resident center with a kitchen, and a spacious outdoor courtyard. the six story building is being built in the front parking lot of the berkeley adult school on san pablo avenue, officials say when it is completed, the workforce housing will help the school district recruit and retain quality quality educators. >> this housing project is more than just bricks. it is more than just gold shovels. but it is a promise, a promise that berkeley will stand with its educators, stand with its staff, and that we invest in the people who invest in our children. >> the construction is expected to be completed by february of 2027. it's day of a day that is of climate action. see how hundreds of volunteers spent the day making our environment a little better. and a live look outside in downtown san francisco. we'll have your full

nonprofit is launching a new space for minority creators, organizers and entrepreneurs. the coworking space is tailored towards japanese americans and officially launches monday. the nonprofit coho offered a sneak peek during an open house this afternoon, also includes free origami workshops and other activities. organizers say they wanted to give young japanese creatives a space to bond, socialize and build community in san francisco. this morning, hundreds of volunteers took part in climate action day service projects, planting trees, laying mulch and restoring trails.aying district 11 supervisor cheyenne chen says her district is vulnerable to climate change. many residents live near i-280,

making air pollution high. district is also home to the most seniors and children under 14. >> we are not only just planting trees coming out, we're not just pulling weeds, but we are here to demonstrate that climate climate matters to our community. climate action is key to our community. >> the day of service was organized by san francisco in partnership with california volunteers, an initiative from the governor's office. well, for the first time in two years, recreational ocean salmon season is open along california's coast. the state department of fish and wildlife is allowing a 7000 fish catch limit for chinook salmon tomorrow and today, anglers are allowed to catch up to two salmon per day. if the statewide catch limit is not reached this weekend, salmon fishing will be again permitted on july 5th and sixth and some beautiful weather. it's been a bit windy at times, but pretty

beautiful outside today. frances dinglasan. >> yeah, it's just what you would expect for this time of the year. that means cloudy at the coast and then of course, sunny inland. and here's a look at live doppler seven. so you notice the cloud cover sticks around the beaches all day long. and that's where temperatures were definitely on the cooler side. and as jay mentioned, it's breezy out there. in fact, gusts to 33mph in oakland. and also at sfo we're seeing 22mph nevado, 23, in napa, fairfield, also at 33 mile per hour gusts. san mateo 21 mile per hour gust. you see the flag blowing there at the golden gate bridge. so san francisco is currently 59 degrees. oakland 64, hayward 68. but then some areas, inland areas where we get a little bit more sunshine. it is warmer in san jose. it's currently 72. also redwood city, half moon bay, though only 57 degrees. this time. we're showing you some of that inland area with mount diablo there in the distance. so that's why temperatures in the inland areas got to the 80s. like

concord is still 80 degrees, fairfield 82, santa rosa though definitely on the cooler side at 69 degrees, petaluma 61, livermore 78 degrees. and it's also been a great beach day in santa cruz. low 70s this afternoo. but you do see that marine layer and some of those low clouds there in the distance. so tonight the low clouds and fog will spill in once again. then tomorrow we'll see partly cloudy conditions with the breeze picking up. in the afternoon. temperatures will be mild to warm. some areas might be just a degree or two cooler tomorrow. and then next week we have a pretty steady pattern. it's kind of what you would expect and very seasonable weather before things start to dip towards the end of next week. overnight lows will be generally in the mid 50s, with the cloud cover moving in once again, but cooler numbers in the north bay like santa rosa and napa near 50 degrees. and then the clouds will pull back to the coast, as it usually does in the afternoon. and then by the afternoon,

temperatures will range from 60s at the beaches to mid 80s. for our inland areas, look for a high of 64. in san francisco, san rafael 76, oakland 69, san jose 79. and check out ukiah and lakeport in the 90s. antioch 85 degrees. if you are heading to the game tomorrow, grab a jacket first pitch at 105. it will be near 60 degrees and with the breeze picking up, temperatures will only stay in the low 60s throughout the game time. here's a look at the accuweather seven day forecast. so breezy again tomorrow with temperatures possibly coming down a degree or two in some areas, but then not too much change for many areas and it will feel summer-like in inland on monday. temperatures bump up a bit, but notice mild to warm afternoons prevail throughout the workweek and then we start to see a cool down towards the end of next week. but what's not to like? it's what you expect. >> i'm a little jealous of those 90s. i was wearing bes the last two nights here in the

just before 830, gizmo got off to a bit of a rocky start, stumbling out of the nest, but eventually made it out and hung out on a nearby tree branch. her siblings sunny flew out for the first time last week. gizmo is exactly three weeks old today. sunny is about three and a half weeks, and here is a live look out at the nest where nothing is happening. it's empty right now. eagle parents jackie and shadow will continue to watch and care for them, but it's always fun to uh- to have something like that on the show. a reminder that you can watch all our newscasts live and on demand through the abc seven bay area connected tv app. it's available for apple tv, google tv, amazon fire tv and roku. download the app now and start streaming. i want to see some more eagles flying around. yeah. all right. we'll see you back here at six.
