ceremony. >> more than 700 volunteers showing up at dawn with hammers to create something amazing on twin peaks. >> you know, even though standing on the side of the hill trying to hammer down the tarps, struggling but having a good time because we're all doing it together. >> it's the 30th year for the iconic pink triangle. the giant 240 foot symbol is part beacon, part educational tool. >> there's no room for subtlety during pride month. we want people to see it from the freeways, from the bridges, and to be become curious and ask what it is. >> the pink triangle, once used by the nazis to identify lgbtq individuals in concentration camps, has now been reclaimed. >> blessed be this pink triangle, a symbol of hate and fear, transformed into a symbol of pride and power. >> with lgbtq plus rights under attack from the trump administration and states. many believe pride is taking on a new meaning this year.

oakland lgbtq community center held the grand opening of its east oakland satellite site this afternoon. mayor barbara lee took part in a ribbon cutting ceremony held on the city of refuge on enterprise way. the site includes a new health clinic and a trans wellness center. officials say the oakland lgbtq center is fighting for its survival as it faces as it faces federal cuts and a drastic drop in individual donors. we're now about three weeks away from the san francisco pride parade celebration, and abc seven is the exclusive broadcast partner. you can watch it live on sunday, june 29th, right here and everywhere you stream abc seven news. happening now the cdc is warning of a salmonella outbreak linked to eggs. it's already sickened dozens of people in california. august egg company has recalled 1.7 million dozen brown, cage free and brown certified organic eggs. they were sold under multiple brand

names and were sold to retailers in california and eight other states. the stores include smart and final, lucky, safeway, ralphs, and walmart. they have sell by dates from march 4th to june 4th and 19th. so far, 79 people have gotten sick. 63 of those are in california. 21 people have been hospitalized. no deaths have been reported. in developing news, protesters and federal agents clashed for a second day in los angeles as immigration and customs enforcement conducted raids across the city. we're learning that several people have been arrested, and within the last hour, trump threatening on truth social that federal government step in with governor newsom saying on x, quote, the federal government is moving to take over the california national guard and deploy 2000 soldiers. that move is purposefully inflammatory and will only escalate tensions. abc news reporter alex stone has more from los

angeles. >> clashes for a second day today in los angeles as people protested immigration arrests in the city. >> we see you for what you are a terrorist organizatio. >> today, immigration officerso. facing protests in paramount, chaotic protests unfolding in los angeles on friday after federal immigration agents raided seven businesses across the city. >> our friends, neighbors and family are being kidnaped. our kids are scared. this is the time when we show up for them, for each other. >> the department of homeland security saying it executed four federal search warrants across three locations. at least 44 people were arrested in friday's raids. community members and lawmakers coming together today to speak out against the raids. >> but what happened here in los angeles yesterday is not unique to los angeles. what happened here yesterday is happening across communities in the united states. >> a tense scene outside of a clothing warehouse as a crowd tried to block agents

from driving away. during one of the raids, some protesters were seen throwing objects at the vehicles. acting ice director todd lyons today criticizing la's mayor and the lapd for its slow response, saying ice agents were vastly outnumbered by the protesters. the mayor saying neither she nor the lapd had any idea the raids were going to happen. >> ice went in. they just took people away. and we just can't have this in our city. and it happened multiple places in the city. and what it does is, is that it sows a sense of terror throughout the community. >> those raids prompting demonstrators to gather outside of a federal building in la, where lawyers said those detained had been taken. lapd officers in riot gear, standing shoulder to shoulder, blocking the entrance to the building, some tossing tear gas canisters to try to disperse the crowds. the department of homeland security standing by the immigration raids in a statement saying, quote, ice is now following the law and placing these illegal aliens in expedited removal as they always

should have been. alex stone, abc news, los angeles. >> russia is intensifying its attacks against ukrainet least seven people were killed and 41 others hurt as russia unleashed a barrage of drones and missiles today. explosions erupted in neighborhoods across ukraine, including the capital city of kyiv. the ukrainian air force says russia launched a total of 215 drones and missiles. it says 174 were neutralized. according to moscow, these strikes and retaliation are retaliation for ukraine's coordinated attack on russian airfields last weekend. today, the city of santa cruz and the coast guard began removing heavy equipment and debris that fell into the ocean after last december's partial collapse of the municipal wharf. officials say the operation has been delayed until now due to the need for calm sea conditions. during the removal process, the debris removal operations are expected to be completed tomorrow. the wharf

and its businesses will stay open this weekend, but the city is asking for people to stay clear of the work zone. >> i do think it's a little weird that they didn't clean it up earlier. i mean, with all the stuff that's still in the ocean from the collapse, that's completely dangerous for sea life, for boaters like all those people. >> city officials hope to start construction on the restoration of the wharf in october and finish that work by early next year. the community of oakland is welcoming new mayor barbara lee in their own way, and hundreds of volunteers in the bay area are doing their part on this climate day of action. >> we have an onshore breeze which keeps things cool at the coast, but sunshine inland, allowing those areas to warm up. i'll let you know how the changes

why i wanted to see oakland as the cleanest, safest, and greenest city in our state and in our country. and so you're doing this. >> tomorrow, a community inauguration celebration will be held at the ferry lawn in jack london square from 3 to 5 p.m. there will be musical guests, performances and speeches from civic leaders, including mayor lee. part of building a better bay area is making sure people can afford to live here. this morning, the berkeley unified school district held a groundbreaking ceremony for a project to build affordable housing units for teachers and staff. the workforce housing complex will include 110 rental apartments, a residence center with a kitchen, and a spacious outdoor courtyard. the six story building is being built in the front parking lot of the berkeley adult school on san pablo avenue. officials say when it's completed, workforce housing will help the school district recruit and retain quality educators. >> this housing project is more

pollution high. the district is also home to the most seniors and children under 14. >> we are not only just planting trees coming out, we're not just pulling weeds, but we are here to demonstrate that climate climate matters to our community. climate action is key to our community. >> the day of service was organized by san francisco in partnership with california volunteers. initiative from the governor's office. for the first time in two years, recreational ocean salmon season is open along california's coast. the state department of fish and wildlife is allowing a 7000 fish catch limit for chinook salmon. today and tomorrow. anglers are allowed to catch up to two salmon per day. now, if the statewide catch limit is not reached this weekend, salmon fishing will be permitted again on july 5th and sixth. park officials are asking you not to go searching for a strange lizard on the loose in santa

clara county that looks like this. they say the argentine black and white tegu was discovered a few days ago at joseph d grant county park. they're a popular type of pet, but they can be very problematic on our local ecosystem. park rangers say they are going around grant lake today looking for it. if you see one of these this weekend, officials say to back away safely and report it to park staff or call in to the park office. on that note, frances dinglasan is here with the i mean, at least it's good weather for those officials looking for the big lizard. >> yeah, they're looking for in the south bay. it's kind of t shirt, shorts weather. i will not be looking for that. >> nor will. i heed the warnings. >> yes, but what i am keeping an eye on is the fog out there. and we have a very typical summer like pattern where we see the fog and low clouds at the coast that spill inland overnight. it's also very breezy, especially in oakland. right now. winds are gusting up to 32mph. also notice winds in fairfield at 30mph. in san

francisco it's 19mph. and that's what's also helping to keep things cool. we have a live view looking out towards alcatraz, and you can see the winds affecting the water and the currents there. in san francisco, it's currently 58 degrees oakland, 62 degrees hayward 66, san jose 71. redwood city milder at 73, and half moon bay 57. so we see some of those upper 50s along the coast where we have the sea breeze and the low clouds. but inland areas warmed up into the 80s today. notice in napa 70 degrees, but fairfield 78, concord 77, livermore 74. and that's where we're getting more of the sunshine. but petaluma already dropping to 59 degrees. it's also really nice at the santa cruz beach. a lot of folks were t there today. summer has started for many students. so tonight, what you can expect with the weather headlines for this week. we're going to have low clouds and fog tonight. and then tomorrow partly cloudy with mild to warm temperatures. once again, the sea breeze will pick up in the afternoon. and then next week we

actually have a very steady pattern. temperatures will be near average or just slightly below. not too much change through the workweek. overnight lows. with the clouds moving in once again, temperatures will drop into the mid 50s around the bay, some low 50s in parts of the north bay like santa rosa and napa, and then throughout the afternoon. during the day, we'll see the clouds peel back to the coast. we'll get lots of sunshine for inland areas, and they will warm up into the 80s once again. but in some spots it might be a degree or two cooler. so look for a high of 85. in antioch, we'll even see some 90s in ukiah and lakeport. but then the sea breeze and the clouds at the beaches will keep things near 60 degrees in half moon bay, san francisco 64, oakland 69, san jose 79 degrees and some low 80s for concord and also in livermore. if you're heading to the giants game tomorrow, definitely grab a jacket. temperatures will hover around the low 60s throughout the game, with

the sea breeze picking up once again. we'll see breezes of about 15 to 20mph around the bay tomorrow, so first pitch at 105 near 60 and then partly cloudy conditions throughout the day. here's the accuweather seven day forecast. so just a slight dip in temperatures for tomorrow. in fact some holding steady. and that means 60 at the coast around the bay low to mid 70s. and for inland areas low to mid 80s. we'll see summer like weather on monday for inland areas upper 80s but then not too much change all week for the beaches and then around the bay. we'll stay in the low to mid 70s. also in the inland areas will generally see mid 80s. but notice towards the end of next work week and into next weekend, we'll see temperatures cool down a bit for the beginning of a cooling trend. >> all right. thank you very much francis. what a first showing for the valkyries right here on abc seven. ear today they put up a franchise record 95 points today against las vegas. and they were in cruise control much of the way.

nordstrom's returning to san francisco. the plan is moving forward, but it might not be quite what you think. we'll explain. and san francisco is pulling out all the stops to bring back big businesses. one plan rolling out is already getting some pushback from neighbors. that's tonight at 11 on the peninsula. nearly three dozen bay area companies battled for bragging rights in a charity dragon boat race event. about 2000 people took part in the 15th annual bay area dragon boat corporate novice race in foster city. the event promotes community building, outdoor fitness and more. this year's participating companies including nvidia, google and our friends over at pixar. looks like a fun time there. the second young eagle and big bear has taken her first flight. cameras caught it this morning just before 830. gizmo got off to a bit of a rocky start, stumbling out of the nest, but eventually made it out and hung
