racers all encouraged to participate in a 5 or 10 k. it started and finished just south of the polo field, bringing out longtime and first time racers. >> it was my first five k ever and i didn't train for it. i just wanted to see what a baseline would be and i did pretty good. >> i've tried many times, but it's always a little bit of a surprise going up and down because i'm used to running on the flats. i'm just happy to be here and participate and have fun with the rest of the crowd. >> proceeds go towards the third street youth center and clinic. it provides health care, housing assistance, counseling, workforce development, and leadership programs. another one of today's pride events in san francisco, the dike march and rally. the march is getting underway right now, but the rally has been underway since this afternoon at dolores park. participants are marching from the park to the castro district and then back to the park. >> growing up in san francisco, i've been lucky. i've had a very safe upbringing. but that that, you know, we can't become

complacent because of that. we have to remember that there's still people who come here for safety from other places. >> dolores street between 18th and 20th will be closed to traffic all evening to accommodate the crowds. this is a return to pride for the dike march. the event was abruptly canceled last year due to what organizers called leadership challenges. here is a live look now near the starting point of tomorrow's pride parade. this is market and battery street. street closures started on tuesday in front of city hall, and there are also some in place in the civic center area. tomorrow, several streets near the parade route, including stretches of polk, larkin and hyde, will be closed all day. and here's a look at the parade route. it begins at market street and beale at 1030. it ends at market and eighth street near civic center plaza. organizers say the parade typically has over 250 contingents and lasts around four hours. bart says it will open at 8 a.m, with trains roughly every five minutes through downtown san francisco. many muni routes that

usually run on market street will be rerouted to mission street to avoid the parade route. abc seven is the exclusive broadcast partner of the parade. you can watch it live tomorrow morning starting at 1030, right here on abc seven and wherever you stream abc seven news. new details now about a deadly shooting in fremont. we told you about this story last friday. today we learned investigators say the shooting was connected to an ongoing dispute over parking. one man died and a second person was injured in the june 20th shooting. detectives have identified everyone involved, but have not made any arrests or filed any charges. it is the first homicide in fremont this year. developing news now president trump this weekend is putting pressure on congress to pass his spending bill. right now, it's unclear if they'll be able to bring it to a vote today. abc news reporter jay o'brien spoke with lawmakers. with president trump's self-imposed independence day deadline looming, senate

republicans spending the weekend in washington urgently working through final sticking points on trump's so-called one big, beautiful bill. the president reiterating he wants the legislation on his desk ready for his signature by july 4th. the mega bill extends trump's 2017 tax cuts, cuts medicaid, which the congressional budget office says could lead to an estimated 11 million people losing their health insurance over the next decade. and it increases the deficit by an estimated $2.8 trillion. >> do you have the votes? >> i think we do. >> senate majority leader john thune, hoping to put the bill up for a key test vote today, which could tee up a late night vote series and a final vote on the bill sometime sunday. >> it's time to call the question have a binary decision and vote yes. you know, you have to look at the whole and see if the whole of the bill is better for america than than killing the whole bill. >> senate republicans can only afford to lose three votes. and the legislation already facing

as the city of san francisco, renamed one of its skate parks after a local skate advocate. there was a celebration today at zion skate plaza, formerly known as waller street skate park. it's now named for zion williams gaines, who passed away in his sleep two years ago at 20 years old. he was known for his years commitment to skateboarding, despite having lost his sight from a gunshot wound he suffered when he was a teenager. >> this was somebody who had a passion, he had identified it and despite what happened to him, was going to figure out a way to continue to do it. >> you know, since he'd be gone. i feel like everything has to be perfect. and i know it's not a perfect world, but i just think all you guys for being here today and acknowledging who he is. >> today's renaming event in golden gate park also featured music prizes and a

skate competition. the san francisco recreation and park commission unanimously approved the renaming in february. a new law meant to combat drinking spiking is o set to take effect tuesday. here in california, bars and nightclubs in the state will be required to provide lids to any customer who asks for one. the goal is to protect people from having drugs dropped into their drinks. some bar owners say the change could mean an increase in prices for customers. the law also requires for bars and restaurants to have drinking test kits and safety notices informing people that lids are available. a big crowd came out today for a big attraction in san francisco. all aboard! a look at the warm welcome to this 295 foot long military ship that it's getting in the city by the bay. what makes the vessel one of a kind? and the pride parade forecast. plus, we're keeping track of some cooler temperatures coming our way. >> plus, g-men looking for back to back wins over the white sox,

northern california summer games are underway in the south bay. more than 1000 athletes and coaches from 35 counties are competing all weekend long. the events are happening at santa clara high school and santa clara university. the organization is also celebrating its 30th anniversary in northern california. events continue tomorrow with swimming, tennis, as well as track and field competitions. america's tallest ship is docked at san francisco's pier 17, and they're offering free tours to the public. but there's not much time left to get on board. it is a real showboat, and a long line of people waited today to take a tour. this is the first time in 16 years that the barque eagle has docked in san francisco. the eagle is a historic u.s. coast guard ship built by the nazis in the 1930s and seized by the u.s. after world war two. it is now used to train future coast guard officers. they say it's the experience of a lifetime. >> being with all the people, all the crew. it's great to meet

everyone. we don't get to interact with enlisted people as much at the academy, so just learning from the people who have been in the service for years, it's been great. i've never been on a sailboat learning all the sails, hoisting lines. it's just a lot of fun. >> the eagle will be open to the public today until 7 p.m, and you can step aboard the historic ship for free. if you miss it this time, it's back july 25th. that would be cool to go to spencer and uh. is it sailing weather for anyone that's sailing on a much smaller boat? obviously. >> yeah, absolutely. it is sailing weather, karina, and it's going to remain sailing weather for some time now with this mild pattern we have. so let's take a look at the satellite radar image. you can see that we still have the marine layer lurking offshore of course, but it's sunny over our inland areas. it's mild out there, is breezy and getting breezier right now, with wind speeds generally between 15 and 20mph. a little bit gustier over fairfield right now, and it's several degrees

warmer in most bay area locations than at this time yesterday, except up in the north bay where some spots are a bit cooler. well, we had a view here earlier of san francisco from sutro tower, but some of those thin clouds developing around the marine layer are obstructing our view right now. 60 degrees here in the city, 70 in oakland right now we have low to mid 80s at san jose and hayward, 78 at redwood city and 55 at half moon bay. here's a nice view from mount tam, looking at that finger fog that has pushed through the golden gate and way out over the bay right now, but still mostly sunny over other parts of san francisco. 79 in santa rosa, petaluma 7775 napa. we have low 90s still at fairfield, concord and livermore. that inland warmth is holding on. and there's your view of the low clouds at the golden gate right now. these are our forecast headlines tomorrow. perfect weather for the pride parade here in san francisco. wide range of temperatures tomorrow. it will be mild at the coast and hot inland. and then early next week we get some minor cooling and temperatures will settle into a more seasonal range.

we're looking. excuse me. we're looking at the forecast animation going into the late night hours. notice lots of patches of drizzle will develop offshore as that marine layer pushes out over the bay at locally inland. so we'll have patchy drizzle in the early morning hours, but the marine layer will burn back to the coastline quickly, giving way to sunny skies by midday tomorrow. overnight lows will be generally in the mid to upper 50s, a pretty mild pattern overnight. highs tomorrow. low 60s at the coast, upper 70s to low 80s around the bay. shoreline. low to mid 90s inland. another sizzler in some of our inland areas tomorrow. and here's the accuweather seven day forecast notice gradual cooling going into the early part of the week. in fact, the coolest day next week will be next friday, 4th of july, which is not unusual for san francisco, but it's going to be a mild to warm week, generally all the way through. >> well, what a difference two weeks makes. the last time i was here talking to u guys, the giants were tied for first place in the nl west. now
