accurate weather now tedd? < tedd florendo we told you and warned you on friday that we would have snow monday morning. and we did. let's go to the radar and back this up c-s-i style to see what happened. 10 pm we had another round of rain come through and at that time is was in the 40's and getting colder. so with the precip still around we had knew it was going to get cold enough to change over to snow and it did. since this was the tail end of the precip, there wasn't much left to accumulate. ............................... ............................ now we have a freeze warning that goes into effect at 10 pm for areas in northwestern clark county and souther nye along with nw arizona in mohave county where temps could drop to the teens. ............................... ............................. here's a look at your evening. with winds blowing still, even though they'll just be more breezy rather than windy. we're looking at feels like temps in the 30's this evening, with feels like temps in the

this is the nice soft snow. and the folks i spoke with say this has been best snow they've seen in years. "and the snow is amesome. it is all flurry." "the one thing that sticks out to me, is the powder, when you are sking down the hill and the snow is flying up next to ya, it is just a great feeling." "we got more than a foot. we got 18 inches or so...." snow is defintely the hot item for hundreds of snowboarders and skiers at lee canyon. sunday's storm brought at least 18 inches for area. "usually, late january and february this is the fun part of winter for us. this is where we will get the precipitation especially with el nino this season. we are up to 96 inches, for last year for the entire season, we had about 72 inches. so, this is great conditions.

"this is like utah snow but it is only 45 minutes away. this is some of the best snow we have seen season. you got to get up here and enjoy this." compared to last year when the area only got 72 inches./// ((dave courvoisier)) > we're learning more about the man arrested in last week's officer involved shooting. metro police say 34-year-old gilberto gutierrez was shot by police tuesday. officers say he had stolen a car... and took off on foot after crashing it near pecos and bonanza. police chased after him... until officer samuel solorio -- who was off duty at the time -- responded, after hearing the radio traffic. officer solorio told investigators gutierrez pointed a gun at him... and walked towards his car... presumably to steal it... so officer solorio shot him three times. gutierrez is recovering at umc. metro says he has a lengthy criminal past... incluing several auto thefts and gang affiliations./// ((denise valdez)) > today is also a somber one for metro police... 10 years ago today... sergeant henry prendes was killed in the line of duty. prendes died in 2006... while responding to a domestic violence call. a gunman shot him with a semi-

and officers fired back.. killing the suspect. prendes is survived by his wife and two daughters... who hold a charity golf tournament in his honor every year to raise money for underprivileged children./// ((dave courvoisier)) nevada's medical marijuana business is picking up. clark county now has 10 dispensaries and more than 20 cultivation and production facilities. today 8 news now got an exclusive look inside of one the newest local companies growing the pot. plants that are just a few weeks from hitting the market. patranya bhoolsuwan joins us live from inside the facility. ((patranya bhoolsuwan)) we are here in what's called "a grow room" ... safety and cleanliness are critical here, that's why i'm wearing a hair net and lab coat, even booties on my feet. there are more than 200 marijuana plants in this room ... and many more throughout this facility that is expected to

((patranya: and the plants in this room are about 2 weeks way from being harvested you can tell by the overwhelming smell, it's really strong in here and

nicole lovell's body was found more than 50 miles from her home... after disappearing last week. authorities believe virginia tech freshman david eisenhauer abducted and murdered her. another student.. 19- year-old natalie keepers.. has been charged with helping get rid of lovell's body. police are looking into whether lovell met eisenhauer online: ((mike albert//blacksburg pd - "eisenhauer and nicole were acquainted prior to her disappearance. eisenhauer used this relationship to his advantage, to abduct and then kill her."))
