preparing to lead a fight against the government once again. ((dave courvoisier)) he's released a pointed notice he sent to an oregon sheriff... and other authority figures... that could be an indicator of more to come. vanessa murphy is here with the story. ((vanessa murphy)) cliven bundy in this letter is basically telling the sheriff to get out of the way.... last week - we heard from cliven bundy's sons telling supporters like militia members to back down... but now cliven bundy is saying the opposite. however - when i called him tonight - a woman who says she's his daughter told me he's only taking calls from militia members right now. ((vanessa murphy)) now cliven bundy may be leading the fight. on monday - the southern nevada cattle rancher sent this notice to an oregon sheriff. - ccing the governor of the state and president barack obama..... stating we the people will retain possession of a federal refuge, and to remove all law enforcement from the county. when 8 news now called bundy monday night, a relative would not say whether he's headed to oregon....but did state he's only taking calls from militia members. ((ammon: this was never meant to be an armed standoff.)) ((vanessa murphy)) this message from son ammon bundy was released after he and several other protesters were arrested last week and spokesman lavoy finicum was shot and killed by police. according to the f-b-i, finicum reached for a gun. according to bundy and his supporters, ammon is a political prisoner and finicum was

((dave courvoisier)) > iowans cast their first votes in the 20- 16 presidential election in iowa tonight... producing tight races for both the democrats and republicans... with senator ted cruz declaring victory in the g-o-p race. polling showed cruz and businessman donald trump virtually neck-and-neck in the weeks leading up to the caucus... but cruz came out on top by four-points over trump. with a majority of precincts reporting... cruz claimed 28-percent of the republican vote... good for six delegates. trump finished second with 24- percent... earning five delegates... and senator marco rubio ecstatic with his third place finish. he nearly caught trump with 23-percent, also worth five delegates. doctor ben carson earned one delegate with 9-percent of the vote. the candidates thanked iowa voters for their support: (( cruz: "iowa has sent notice. that the republican nominee and the next president of the united states will not be chosen by the media." (donald trump/(r) presidential

the republican nomination and we will go on to easily beat hillary or bernie or whoever the hell they throw up there." (sen. marco rubio/(r) presidential candidate) the people of this great state have sent a very clear message. after seven years of barack obama, we are not waiting any back." )) ((dave courvoisier)) trump was noticeably less boisterous as he was before the caucuses... where he openly questioned cruz's eligibility to run for president. former arkansas governor mike huckabee -- who actually won the iowa caucus in 2008 -- announced he's suspending his campaign after garnering just 2-percent of the republican vote./// ((denise valdez)) > the race could not have been closer among the democrats... hillary clinton and senator bernie sanders ending in a near-tie... with clinton claiming victory. however... there is not a final tally yet tonight. a fraction of a percentage point separated the two candidates throughout the evening. before all votes were counted, clinton addressed her supporters

iowa, he called it off. the new hampshire primary is next up on the campaign schedule. 23 republican delegates and 32 democratic delegates are up for grabs next tuesday./// ((denise valdez)) > nevadans will caucus on two separate days. the democrats are up first on february 20-th... that's a saturday -- and on tuesday the 23-rd it's the republicans' turn. you can learn more about the process at las vegas now dot com. 8 news now is your local election headquarters. and don't forget to catch politics now -- at a special time -- saturday at 7:30./// ((dave courvoisier)) > the nevada highway patrol says a wrong way driver is responsible for a deadly crash on 215. it happened just after 5:30 in the westbound lanes of 215 near aliante. two cars collided head- on... and a third vehicle then crashed into the first two. a man driving a lexus was pronounced dead on the scene. a woman driving in a buick was rushed to u-m-c where she later succumbed to her injuries. two people were in the third vehicle... they both are being treated for

investigators aren't sure at this time which vehicle was going the wrong way: (( trooper chelsea stuenkel/nhp: "this is an extremely tragic crash. two people lost their lives. two people aren't coming home tonight. and this section of roadway is under construction. we can't urge people enough to slow down out here. extremely dangerous at high speeds. again if your distracted, impaired, combined with those speeds, you lose control of your vehicle. things like this tragic crash result from that." )) ((dave courvoisier)) that area of 215 near aliante is an ongoing construction zone. trooper chelsea stuenkel said she believes the current speed limit is 45. it's not clear how fast the cars were going when they collided... or how one vehicle ended up going the wrong way. the ages of the victims are unknown at this time. n-h-p shut down the highway for several hours for the investigation./// ((dave courvoisier)) > a grand canyon tour bus went up in flames on u-s 95 this afternoon. the c-h destination bus was returning from arizona when smoke began coming from the back of the bus around 3:30. the driver pulled over and the

henderson firefighters responded and knocked out the blaze... which was contained to the back. there were no injuries to the 29 passengers or the bus driver. they were loaded onto another bus and returned to las vegas. no word yet on what caused the fire or when the bus can be moved./// ((denise valdez)) > henderson police are investigating its second homicide of 20- 16. a 25-year-old man was found dead from a gunshot wound in the villas at green valley on green valley parkway near warm springs just before 1:30 this afternoon. police have not released a suspect description at this time and the motive is not known. at this time... a suspect remains on the loose: (( vanessa murphy: "any cause for concern for residents in the area?" michelle french: "at this point we are actively pursuing all leads and we are looking into every lead that we get." )) ((denise valdez)) the victim's identity will be released by the coroner's office. if you have any information you can call the henderson police department or remain anonymous when you call crime stoppers.

shcool career in las vegas answer: it meant a lot we went 12 and 10 , 10 and 2 my senior year till we lost to gorman which is unfortunate there, gorman, thats another story but it meant a lot , i met a lot of great people, lifelong friends. ben jacobs: vegas used to get sole short alot on athletic talent. i always said, we got guys there, we got dudes, and i think people are steating to see that now and its awaome seeing guys like bryce harper and everyone, it's great all those people from vegas showing people that there's talent in vegas . its not justt a party town. ))
