of credit card debt in 12 months or less may sound impossible...but it's not... if you have the right tools. would take azalee ... 132 months .. .or 10 years to pay off the 6 grand she owes. ((tammy: all my cards were basically paid down until towards the end of the year. )) ((michelle mortensen)) tammy's debt story is a bit different. she pays her cards down...through out the year ... but they seem to creep up as the year progresses. she owes more than three grand. if she pays just the minimum it will take her 113 months to pay it off... 9 years. but thanks to something called the snowball ... it will all be gone in 8 months. here's how. the ladies will pay a certain amount of money to debt each month. a huge chunk will go toward the lowest balance. the remaining with pay the minimums on each card. once a card is paid off. you snowball the next loweest balance. you keep going ... till they are all paid off. the financial guidance center throws in some huge incentives too. you cancel your cards ... and allow them to make the payments for you ... and they'll slash your interest rates. that's why it's their fastest and most effective debt reduction programs.
