republican presidential candidates have been stumping all across the state... florida senator marco rubio hosted a rally here in las vegas at the silverton hotel and casino. while ted cruz spent time pounding the pavement in northern nevada. and front runner donald trump hosted a rally in sparks. trump is expected to be back in las vegas tonight for a rally at treasure island starting at 8 o'clock. and we are your local election headquarters for the latest on the race! karen castro joins us live at a polling site near horizon ridge and seven hills. school cafeteria. but this is where the caucus will be held in just about an hour. i'm told preparations are underway. party leaders are on campus getting everything ready and making sure it runs smoothly. coronado high school was also a caucus site on saturday... and i'm told there was a large turnout. a site manager tells me they also expect a large turnout today... 27 precincts are located at coronado high school. if 100-percent of the registered voters assigned to this site show up... that translates to as many as

((michael stevens)) marco rubio came off confident before speaking to a number of supporters this morning. he told reporters he's not focused on trump... instead his eyes are on picking up more delegates in the race... and he thinks he can do that tonight: ((sen. marco rubio // (r) presidential candidate: we feel good about our team on the ground here. it's a very unpredictable process -- you're basically going in blind in the sense there's no polling that's accurate -- it's a unique process... that's only been around for a couple of cycles so we feel good about it but i don't think anyone really knows what's going to happen tonight. )) ((michael stevens)) rubio was asked if he plans on tweaking his strategy... to knock off front-runner donald trump? the florida senator said he's not changing a thing: ((sen. marco rubio // (r) presidential candidate: seventy percent of republicans don't want donald trump to be their nominee. so he's in the lead because that 70% is divided up against so many people -- and every time someone drops out of the race we only grow stronger -- governor bush suspended his campaign. i'm sure we picked up more than a fair share of his supporters -- so we're going to continue to be who we are -- and running on

deadly shooting near nellis air force base. it happened near craig and las vegas boulevard early this morning... police are now looking for 21 year old colton brantano. police say this started as an argument between two groups who knew each other. investigators tell us one group tried to get someone to come outside.. and started damaging one of the vehicles to try to lure them out of the apartment. officers say that's when the victim was shot and killed. if you have any information, please call crimestoppers./// ((paul joncich)) > some of the people close to the woman who was found dead in a laundry chute at the d are looking for answers. police have closed the investiation into the death of 26- year- old kalli medina- brown. saying they do not believe she

threatening injuries after a

home. a 20- year- woman called from inside the home to say her brother was shooting at family members. police say he shot and killed her, and another young girl... along with two others. police say he set the house on fire... and even fired at first responders who showed up. officers had to dodge bullets and wear breathing masks while running into the home... while firefighters were on the roof trying to extinguish the fire. it's not known whether the son died from a self inflicted gunshot.. or if police killed him. /// ((paul joncich)) > president obama unveiled his proposal to close the detention center at guantanamo bay, cuba. jury has found a woman guilty of cutting a baby out of a pregnant woman. the jury entered guilty verdicts on all counts against dynel lane today. lane was convicted of attacking michelle wilkins last year... after wilkins responded to a craigslist ad for baby clothes. the baby died in the attack... wilkins survived. she spoke to reporters after the verdict. come out all at once. fire officials say rattlesnakes are coming out of hibernation ahead of schedule because of our recent warm weather. moonlight jellyfish usually start appearing in the bay by mid- december, but because of the warm water from el nio that was delayed. and with the forecast expected to stay dry and warm it's time to start paying attention for rattlesnakes in outlining areas of the valley./// ((denise valdez)) > nasa's cassini spacecraft captured some incredible photos of three of saturn's moons. check it out. the moons pictured are tethys ... enceladus and mimas .... all three of which have their own unique characteristic s. enceladus-- for instance-- is about as wide as the state of arizona... and is also one of the brightest objects in our solar system. mimas can look like a bull's eye if viewed from a certain angle. and tethys is a small moon with a cold, airless and heavily scarred body. and get this.... 62-moons have been discovered in orbits around saturn. 53 of them have been officially

((paul joncich)) > nasa is also giving us a look at a history- making cyclone before and after it made landfall. this is a satellite photo of tropical cyclone winston on the day it hit eastern fiji. winston made landfall on february 20th as a category five hurricane. it passed over fiji the next day... but the next-day satellite photo showed the storm maintained an eye. winston was the first cyclone of that strength to make landfall in fiji in its recorded history. because of the massive storm-- the fiji government declared a state of natural disaster for the next 30 days. the fiji meteorological service estimated wind gusts near winston's center over 200 mph./// ((denise valdez)) > severe weather sweeping through the south this afternoon... an intense area of low pressure strengthened as it shifted eastward over the southern plains and lower mississippi. this is video of a tornado in livingston, louisiana. the extent of the destruction isn't known at this point, but

in maryland has prompted a federal and state investigation. state officials are offering a ten-thousand dollar reward for more information. thirteen bald eagles were found dead on saturday. state officials believe the birds were poisoned... but they don't know if it was intentional or an accident. female student...armed with two large knives tore through the hallways...atta cking at least eight people.
