((kirsten joyce)) the advisory committee is meeting this morning to talk about different ways to do it. they'll hear from several country.. as well as canada. the public is allowed to voice their opinion... the meeting takes place at the grant sawyer state office building at 9 am. last summer, governor brian sandoval signed a bill requiring a committee to study how to turn ccsd into five evenly divided school precincts before the 2018 through 2019 school year. /// ((brian loftus)) > it's a big day for the roberson location of quest academy... because officials say the charter school campus will likely close. the nevada state public charter school authority is expected to

meeting this morning. monday.. since then.. parents have been calling us concerned... especially those who have children with special needs. some say they're disappointed in how the situation has been handled. ((kirsten joyce)) > the latest was at 8-pm near washington and jones. one person was hurt in a drive- by shooting. the victim was taken to u-m-c./// ((brian loftus)) just before 8.. metro says someone was shot in the leg in a room in the suites on boulder highway. investigators say it was a domestic incident and the victim and suspect knew eachother./// ((kirsten joyce)) police are investigating a shooting near cambridge and twain... right near the boys and girls club. the victim was taken to sunrise hospital. police don't think the shooting was random./// ((brian loftus)) > and at 3-pm... two property managers were checking out the home they managed.. after getting a call someone was inside. when they got there... they got into a fight with the stranger.. at at one point.. one of the property managers shot the suspect.. killing him. police haven't said if the

back to the spring drill... and that means allergies are in full swing with trees in bloom. ........... i noticed all along jones the white pear trees blooming. ............ ridge of high pressure along the west for warm weather. el nino has helped build a big ridge over the west and that has helped keep well above normal and record temps across the desert and southern california through the winter... intead of the extra rains and flooding that was anticipated. ............ but the east has seen severe weather and will get a break today, more warm weather coming for the west this weekend.

((brian loftus)) > new this morning.. kansas police say the factory worker was served a 'protection from abuse' order... shortly before he went on a deadly shooting spree. this happened yesterday near wichita.. at least 4 people were killed-- including the gunman... 14 others were injured. investigators tell cbs news 38- year- old cedric ford shot the victims at three separate locations.. including his workplace... before he was killed in a shootout with police. while recovering in the hospital... one of the survivors talked about the moment he was shot: (((jesus fierros/victim ) people were just running saying somebody was shooting and next thing you know i felt i got hit in the leg and that's when i turned and started running" )) ((brian loftus)) at last check.. 5 of the shooting victims were in critical condition. the atf and fbi are now helping with the investigation.///

an emotional reunion between a husband and wife after the shooting.. captured on live television: (( jennifer: he said he's okay. he did say somebody next to him got shot. oh my god! oh my god! reporter: you can come in here. crying)) jennifer trujilo said she was just in a nightmare.. since he was next to someone who got shot. but as you can see.. tears just started flowing.. the moment she saw her husband and knew he was okay./// ((kirsten joyce)) > a little boy's allergy got him.. and his family forced off a flight. the 7-year-old arizona boy was on an allegiant airlines flight to washington state.. when a dog boarded the plane. the boy started scratching from head to toe. the allergic reaction delayed the flight.. then the crew suggested having him board another plane. the family understood completely, but what really upset them was the big group of passengers that started cheering

(howard) you want to help kids to manage their time well. dr. jamie howard is a clinical psychologist with the child mind institute. she says younger children should get no more than 20 minutes of homework a day. that's in line with the national pta's recommendation of 10 to 20 minutes per night in the first grade, and an additional 10 minutes per grade level after that. by twelfth grade, that's 120 minutes per night.
