((brian loftus)) sitting down with mayor lee ... our first question from chris. mayor, are we going to see more mixed use developments in nlv like that have with town square or union village in henderson? mayor john lee we have a gateway in nlv off lake mead .. i15 and lake mead. the city's been buying up that real estate for years. anybody in that area, that redevelopment area, that wants to sell the city, the city wants to buy from you.we're working plans witha that would look. we understand the huge impact zappos had on fremont street. even though that's an urban area, our area is urban, we would like to be the surbaban area for that wonderful workforce that's up there and of course, for our whole nlv region. but yes, we have that planned for that area. and then out on north 5th, as the road continues to go on up to the 215, it's in the plans there. but that'll be quite a ways away before that happens. lee i was just with the family the other day. things are going well for them. they're looking at their home, their situation, where they're going to move, they've already started dismantling the operation a little bit. of that 153 acres, only 30 of it is actually emcompassed by the pig farm itself. the rest of the land is ready to be built on whenever. the dismantling of the pig farm will probably be the first thing that happens. but it's in esgrow, things are happening. i know the fond of the pig farm, except for the smell. that's gonna be changing in the near future, but that's been a good little business for our community. we're happy with that family. ((brian loftus)) that they do. lets go from that to faraday future. what's happening with that project? progress being made? mayor john lee yes that's exciting. they just pulled their grading permit. they will start the process for them going forth putting the plans together to build that pad

the rtc just passed on their agenda, the railroad spur that will come off the railroad line and run out to them. that was just approved. and the water district just passed the new distribution, billing processes so that's happening. and nv energy is so important to everything we're doing out there. the faraday people are brilliant, they're masterfully moving forth. lots of jobs are gonna be created out there and the infrastructure is going to bring a lot more business in that area so big happening at apex. ((michelle mortensen)) we also want to know about the kiehl ranch historic park. it opened 4th of july weekend. what has been the reaction now that it has been open a few months? mayor john lee the kiehl ranch is a historic place .. the original mormon fort and the kiehl ranch was just a farm that was built up in the area. there was a death there early on, it became an orchard and a place where people could come

to get a divorce. then it became a place where if people just wanted to come in to enjoy staying in las vegas' early years, and it kinda fell into disrepair the last 50 years. and nlv has been with southern nevada public lands act, blm to restore that historic place so we have a lot of history here. fact is, most of the history in our valley actually started in nlv. that's where the artesian wells were, and it's exciting for us to participate past for our future residents. others could not. but she also discovered parts of their brain are bigger including areas susceptible to alzheimer's.
