the district says it's because the school is being cleaned and decontaminated... and the process is necessary to contain anymore exposure. last night, the district held an open house to answer any questions about what happened. a lot of concerned parents directed sometimes angry questions at officials. at one point there w thrilled with the lack of the communication... and many left the meeting feeling like their questions weren't being answered: ((tanja babajan // parent: "i don't know what to do, where to go, whom to ask, whose gonna help us, whose gonna clean my house, whose gonna check my little kids?")) ((kirsten joyce)) >> toy on reorganizing the nation's 5th largest school district. the proposal was unanimously approved by the state board of education last week. the plan calls for moving power from a central office to the more than 300 schools in the district. principals and their volunteer boards would control about 80 percent of the money flowing to their schools. if approved .. this would be implemented at the start of next school year./// ((brian loftus)) and just last night .. the school board voted to support the opt- in law for sex education ... in the next legislative session. that means.. it's up to parents to decide if

((brian loftus)) a special superhero 5k will be held this weekend .. to bring awareness and raise money for children battling cancer. this is something that hits home to metro captain james larochelle. s diagnosed with leukemia in march. she's now undergoing treatment ... and the family says rosa's most recent biopsy revealed she has a 97-percent survival rate: ((james: we absolutely know that rosa is gonna beat this thing in a little bit and we're gonna be in a much better place and have just a greater appreciation of things...))
