high for almost 20-hours wednesday... after 9-students and 3-teachers tested positive for levels of mercury. ((alessia moore // student: it took hours for them to test everyone. i was just scared because i didn't know what was going to happen to me at that time. )) the clark county school district says they called 226 families giving them the okay to pick-up anything left behind... so far just over 100 bags have been retrieved. ((jocelynn crocker // parent: it's just sad because it's effecting all these people and mercury is a dangerous substance. )) the district says members from the e-p-a have been working around the clock... testing clothes... classrooms and buses... a tedious process that's kept these doors closed for days. and that's okay with some families. ((sharie johnson)) family, friends and the community... said their goodbyes to the first woman elected as a clark county commissioner. today a celebration of life was held for thalia dondero. she was elected back in 19-74 and served on the commission for 20 years.

people dressed up for the 5k at mountains edge exploration park .. to support candlelighters childhood cancer foundation of nevada. candlelighter's cause is something that really hits home for metro police captain james larochelle.. his 9 year old daughter, rosa was diagnosed with cancer... and today she got the chance to go out and see all the support from the community. the event raised more than 206- thousand dollars .. our very own morning anchor one of the co-hosts ((sharie johnson)) and fall is just around the corner .. and that means .. the harvest festival has returned to the valley. if you didn't make it today... you still have tomorrow to check it out. doors open at 10 am and it goes until 6. tickets are 9 bucks .. but you can save two dollars if you bring a can of food, baby formula, or paper products. the items will be donated to safe
