make the evidence public until now-- saying that would jeopardize the investigation. but the police chief says he changed his mind: (( (chief kerr putney /charlotte -mecklenburg police): "after having a conversation with the state bureau of investigations, the lead agency in investigation at this point, i have decided that we're at a stage where i can release additional information without adversely impacting their investigation. so now it is appropriate to police say their decision was not affected by yesterday's release of cell phone footage recorded by scott's widow. scott-- who was african-american, was shot by a police officer tuesday. it set off protests that have been going on-- five days now. ((sharie johnson)) a manhunt is underway in washington state for a man who gunned down five people in a mall last night.

before five this morning in this mostly quiet neighborhood. the suspect gave up to police on scene.)) ((mauricio marin)) a tragic murder in this henderson neighborhood near sunset and boulder highway has residents wishing they could have done more to have stopped the violence. ((jewel price/neighbor: "he was like they fighting again they fighting again." )) ((mauricio marin)) jewel price's husband heard commotion this morning. she lives right next door to where henderson police say a 30-year old woman was stabbed and killed by a man she lived with. ((michelle french/henderson police: "at determine the relationship between the two." )) ((mauricio marin)) jail records show 48-year old michael kaplan was taken into custody for open murder saturday. neighbors say there was a history of domestic violence. ((jewel price/neighbor: "she had told us that he used to beat her and she left him but he came back and i guess she thought everything was going to be all right." 07;55 but he continued to beat her." )) ((mauricio marin)) police say a 7-year old, three year old and a three-month were inside the home at the time of the deadly stabbing.

and the turmoil the children will now have to deal with growing up. workign on a vehicle with his brother in a parking lot at 2245 exeter drive... two others were injured as well. investigators say the two other people were in a polaris slingshot at this intersection doing donuts when a male suspect fired multiple rounds at the two in the car---- which struck and killed ortiz. investigators say, any minor details could be extremely helpful with the case. ((sgt. jose hernandez, metro police "people v neighborhood, people have to shop in this enighborhood and so it's very hard for them to come forward with that information so today that is what we are doing, we bring people out in the community, from organizations that we worked with in the past, and we go back around." ((sharie johnson)) a popular restaurant in -- has all the dogs... tails wagging for all the right reasons. the revery in greenwood is now featuring a gourmet menu just for dogs. some of the menu items include chicken and sweet potatoes and tuna and salmon stew. the owner who's a dog lover himself got the idea after doing some researchd. he decided he needed to create a dog menu f same ingredients the restaurant puts in its normal dishes. in fact, some people have tasted the dog food themselves. (((eric kett/revery general manager) "ya they said it was very flavorful, i'm not so sure they'd have it for their entree, but they definitely have it to their dog and their dog enjoyed it as well." )) ((sharie johnson)) the entrees go for about four dollars each. because the dogs are only allowed on the patio, the menu is seasonal./// ((sharie johnson))

well now... there is a new breakthrough device to save it. marc stewart talked with the businessmen who came up with the idea. (nats) from the toilet to the tap. millions of phones are damaged every year by water. (liz diloreto, phone saved) "i accidentally spilled water on it." liz diloreto's phone almost became a statistic. "what is happening to your phone now? (liz diloreto, phone saved) "it works now." her lifeline to the world saved by this machine. i these two men made here colorado. you've have relatives who've dropped their phones in toilets, you've said? (craig beinecke, inventor) "that was our early business, mostly friends and family." engineers & d-u biz school grads craig beinecke and adam cookson are the brains behind tekdry. their machine can save a phone in just about an hour. the inspiration: a classmate who dropped her phone in the loo. we're going to take this i-phone and drop it in the toilet. about 50 minutes later.
