the video is short.. but very graphic at the end.. so we want to warn you about that. the kingman police were on scene at the home of jeffrey cave. they had a search warrant for cave's home.. which invovled a stolen gun. the officers were heavily armed and approached the door. once inside.. police say cave pointed and fired a gun at officers -- and that's when police did not hesitate and returned fire. detective dennis gilbert was hit. and as we said at the top of the show. he's in the hospital in serious condition.. another officer had a bullet pass through his clothing.. but somehow.. was not injured. ((paul joncich)) now... the deadly train crash in new jersey is reigniting concerns about the automatic braking system called positive train control. in august, federal regulators said the system was in place in just five railroads. kris van cleave explains why installing the technology has been such a struggle. investigators will try to determine if positive train control could have prevented the speeding new jersey transit train from smashing into the hoboken station. this train did not have ptc. (bella dinh-zarr/ntsb vice chairwoman) area that we always look into." the technology relies on gps satellites... radio towers... and ground sensors to monitor a train's speed and location. if it detects a train is going too fast or being operated unsafely... onboard computers kick in to slow or stop it. nationwide, ptc is available on just 29% of passenger locomotives and 22% of passenger track miles. as of last may commuter railroads have spent nearly a billion dollars installing the pricey technology. back in 2011, also in hoboken 30 people were injured in an accident involving a path train. two years later, a metro-north train derailed in the bronx, killing 4 people. and in may 2015, 8 died and more than 200 were hurt when this amtrak train dr philadelphia. investigators say ptc (hoboken yesterday) would have likely prevented them all. ((sharie johnson)) >> family members have traveled to seychelles to gather details...and bring the womens' bodies home./// au train that crashed yesterday morning was traveling at a high rate of speed, according to investigators. the national transporation safety board will spend the next 7-10 days combing through the scene to determine exactly what happened. investigators are searching for answers into why new jersey transit train #1614 never slowed down before crashing into the hoboken terminal at 8:45am thursday morning. the crash killed one woman waiting on the platorm... and injured more than 100 others. the ntsb beleives some clues could be found in the train's two event recorders -- one of which

the tulsa police officer-- accused of killing an unarmed man-- went before a judge today. officer betty shelby pleaded not guilty to a charge of first-degree manslaughter in the killing of terence crutcher, an unarmed black man on september 16th. shelby confronted the 40-year-old after she came across his suv abandoned in the middle of the road. she claimed crutcher was reaching inside of his vehicle when she shot him. shelby pleaded not guilty to first-degree mana november 29th./// ((paul joncich)) a beauty pageant winner continues to command much of the attention in the presidential campaign. donald trump is continuing to push back against claims he 'fat shamed' a former miss universe by suggesting his rival, hillary clinton, is using her as a political tool. craig boswell has the latest from the white house. donald trump stood inside a replica of the oval office at the gerald ford museum in grand rapids, michigan. his visit to the late president's home state came just hours after the republican nominee launched into a third

((sharie johnson)) a football kicker at at an arkansas junior high school is gaining a lot of attention after making history in more ways than way. as krystle sherrell explains... the kicker sets daily goals to fight the odds. a young arkansas kicker has never missed in a game, and scored the first 7th grade extra point in school history. but you might be surprised who is under that gold helmet. at 12 years old, brianna lopez...or bre as her teammates know her.... is the starting kicker for the chaffin brianna lopez chaffin / jr.high kicker in elementary school, around when i was in fourth or fifth grade, i would play outside with the guys..football, and i would just play, and they would tell me play for junior high, just go for it.. ] and her coach says shes got what it takes. doug pogue /chaffin jr. high head football coach shes got a specialty, she played soccer all her life, and so she has that knack, i guess just pure athleticism...she has really good power with her legs, and she kicks it pretty good....been proud of her.

play....but now, they say they couldnt be more proud. i said brianna, you havent done this before, and she said, mom, i love football, and i told you i was going to be in it...so, very proud.> and each day at practice...she sets a new goal for herself. i just make a challenge for me in my head. i make five in a row, and i scoot back...five in a row, and i scoot back, and i just keep going and going. /reporting standup: now, the future of bres football career is for her to decide. ive played basketball since i was like eight, and i wanted to be a cheerleader ever since i was small, and ive been tumbling for awhile. but for now, shes catching the attention of everyone around her. i knew that before long...that word would get out, and people would start noticing her and stuff...and i think its a good thing.
