tracked down to a c-v-s near the south end of the strip. we are tracking this deadly shooting which led to a bizarre standoff with team coverage. brittany edney is near sahara and i-15 where the shooting reportedly took place. first.... lets go to nia wong who's near windmill and las vegas blvd. where the suspect was eventually apprehended. ((nia wong)) >> sharie, our camera was here just as this suspect was taken intu standoff he had with metro. >> police say around nine-fourty three.. c-v-s employees alerted them to the man you see in this video. they say he entered with two handguns into the store. police tell us this man pulled his pants down and tried to sexually assault a woman inside. at that point...employees began to shelter in place in the back of the store. a standoff did happen between metro and this man. a viewer sent us this video of

cvs...where it appears words are exchanged between him and police. a few minutes later...he puts his hands up and is on the ground....when police send a k-9 unit on him. ((lt. dan mcgrath/las vegas metro: 00:38:03 once he stepped outside, we got those people out back out as quickly as possible. we didn't want to start a confrontation with our officers going on but we did evacuate those last employees at the back." 00:38:17)) >> the suspect was sent to u-m-c for dog bites. right now police believe he has a gang affiliation. at the time he was in custody...they say he was incoherent. they don't know if he was under the influence. ((nia wong)) >> detectives spent the rest of the afternoon interviewing employees and other witnesses. including the woman who was assaulted....they say she managed to push him away but is shaken. now police say this standoff stemmed from a deadly shooting near the north area of the strip -- resulting a streatch of i-15 to be shut down. that's where we find brittany edney who has more on what led up to this confrontation. edney who has more on what led up to this confrontation.

shooting happened here near 1-15 and sahara. so far, they know at least 3 vehicles were hit-- that includes the car carrying the female passenger, in her late 40's--she died a few hours later at u-m-c. and the male driver, in his 50's, is in stable condition. police say they believe the pair was hit in thi where the car crashed into a barrier. 2 bullets hit a semi truck... that driver pulled off the road a bit later and called authorities-- he's ok. another vehicle was hit with three bullets-- no injuries there either. i can tell you traffic was shut down for about an hour from sahara to spring mountain as officers walked that area--searching for evidence. metro says they did find a few pieces of possible evidence--they're still working to confirm that it's connected

vegas raiders is close to becoming reality. governor sandoval has final say on the plan for a nearly two-billion dollar stadium on monday... after a week-long special legislative session gave it the go-ahead. mauricio marin and sports director chris maathuis were there for the session in carson city. mauricio: some are calling it one of the biggest plays ever made in nevada history. ul voted to approve the bill. but the decision didn't come without controversy. vo: assemblymembers heard from both sides of the argument before casting their vote. ultimately it came down to 28 yes votes and 13 no's....barely getting the two-thirds vote required. a lot of issues held up the vote including a controversial n-dot roads report that suggested possibly giving preference to construction projects near the stadium over other work around the valley. those who voted for the stadium plan say it will help generate thousands of jobs. another winner in all of this is the las vegas
